Having had a night's sleep to reflect on things, Tuesday night's debate between President Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is starting to feel more like the challenger scored a narrow victory.
The instant analysis, which I helped provide as part of the U.S. News & World Report opinion team's live blogging of the event, lends itself to snap judgments made in the heat of the moment. What matters more is what people remember the next day, even as everything both candidates said and everything both candidates did is analyzed to death.

Agree. I almost felt sorry for the doofus. Clearly, he struggled to connect an appropriate programmed cliche catch phrase from his little pea brain in order to respond to a question.
This entire narrative about debate ‘points’ is ridiculous. The debate was a one-sided sham.
The moderator didn’t do her job. She allowed Obama to repeatedly interrupt, she didn’t time them correctly, she interjected her own views and she joined the debate.
What the heck was she doing with the transcript and how did Obama know she had that transcript right on her podium?
I’d say the reported explosion of death threats against Romney is proof positive that Obama lovers think Romney won last night.
