What’s wrong with Charles and David Koch?
Voice For Liberty in Wichita ^ | September 28, 2012 | Bob Weeks

Posted on 10/02/2012 5:40:27 AM PDT by jonefab

In a column on his website, Fran Tarkenton wonders why Charles and David Koch are the targets of so much criticism. He writes: “So why do we vilify people who represent the greatness of America? Is it just because they have different political beliefs? It’s time to stop demonizing people who do things the right way and generate tremendous wealth — and value to all Americans. Those are the people we should celebrate, whether you agree with their politics or not! If we want to preserve America as the great place it is, we need more entrepreneurs, more innovators — and a free market to foster them.”

Why does the media demonize ANYONE who wants less government?

Because they are all ‘fellow travelers’ Liberals = progressives = socilaist = communists and the media are over 85% full of them

Just read 1984 again. Libs need an enemy to hate. Once one is batted down, the new one arises. Think back over the past 20 years. Remember, in the early 1990s, how Bob Dole of all people was built up as a conservative “Prince of Darkness” because he sucessfully stopped some of Clinton’s programs? Remember when Bob Barr and Lindsey Graham, of all people, were built up as conservative zealots because they were leaders in the Clinton impeachment trial? Even George Bush, who didn’t meet a spending program he didn’t like, was called an “extreme conservative.” The Libs pick a prominent conservative and turn him into a target.

Saul Alinsky rules for Radicals #13:

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities. One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’...
“...any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’ When your ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments.... Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target...’
“One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other.” (pps.127-134)

Why does the media demonize ANYONE
who wants less government?

The Question should be

Have the people of the USA become so fragmented
that all hope of E. Pluribus Unum has been lost?

The article is spot on
Entrepreneurs use resources to make resources
There are millions of individual entrepreneurs

They act on an expectation of a positive return on investment
If they expect an investment loss, they sit on their hands
This causes an end to job creation

Government has created such a
toxic environment for entrepreneurs that
There is an erosion of job creation
that is severely corrosive

This must end
This must end Now

If it continues,
the Suffering and Death will be beyond horrible

This must end
This must end Now

That's the funny part about these liberal campaigns to find the new Conservative Enemy. Half of their enemies aren't really that conservative. The Kochs support a number of free market and anti-government causes but they can take socially liberal positions too. But to hear from the Libs, you'd think they were evil conservative zealots. Same with Richard Mellon Scaife. He was the rich, evil conservative zealot before the Kochs but his paper endorsed Hillary and he supports PBS.

I think it was Oscar Wilde who answered this question when he said, “Formerly, we used to canonize our heroes; the modern method is to vulgarize them. Cheap versions of great books are laudable, but cheap versions of great men are absolutely detestable.”

The Koch brothers are supposed to be big supporters of the TEA Party, contributing large sums. So naturally all progressive slime hate them.

Funny thing; I heven’t received my check yet!

I didn’t intend to leave an impression of hating the Koch brothers with that quote. I intended to point out how the media and others simply vulgarize anyone we as conservatives would see as great examples of the American dream.

The media and libs tear down whatever (whoever) doesn’t meet with their liberal (progressive) agenda.

The Koch brothers and their father have a long history of association with conservative, right wing, and libertarian causes. Their father was one of the founders of the John Birch Society, but broke with them when they went from conventional, if overly zealous, anti-Communism to conspiracism. They have been financial backers of Reason magazine and the Cato Institute, which represent the non-Ron Paul/Lew Rockwell/Murray Rothbard wing of libertarianism.

In the liberal pantheon of villains, the Koch brothers hold a position similar to that of George Soros in the conservative pantheon of villains: the monied manipulators behind the scenes. As conservatives attempt to tie Soros with Communism and anti-Christian and anti-Jewish hatred, the Koch brothers are portrayed as attempting to destroy all social programs and establish a Christian theocracy.
