Polish foreign minister Radek Sikorski has called on Britain to abandon its "false consciousness" of euroskepticism and take the lead in EU decision-making.

Speaking at the Global Horizons conference at Blenheim palace near Oxford on Friday (21 September), the Oxford-educated Sikorski said Britain's hostility towards the EU is based on "myths."

"[The UK] is living with [a] false consciousness ... your interests are in Europe. It's high time for your sentiments to follow," he told the meeting. …

“myths”

hmmm. I’d expect better from former Soviet satellite Poland, but then again, I doubt this man represents the people at large. Was opposition to the communists based on “myths”?
People starving in Ukraine? No... never. It’s a lie!

Here’s a clue

RUN FROM THE EUSSR AS FAST AS POSSIBLE

1: I am amazed that so few people learn the lessons of history.

2: This is the result of globalization. The leadership of a given country becomes a ‘citizen of the world” and thus a traitor to his own people. It logically follows that patriotism becomes undesirable and thus dictators arise.

Amazing what one can figure out without a Harvard “Education.”

It would be best for Europe as a whole if the European Union collapsed. The EU has become an oversized bloated meddlesome supranational bureaucracy that takes micromanagement to a ridiculous extreme. If it remained a “trade zone”, OK. Maybe if it even harmonized some technical standards on a voluntary basis by member states (however, over there the technical standards are set by legal bodies rather than technical professional societies like here in most cases, and the legal bodies, i.e. legislatures, just state “best engineering practices” - although here in the US it’s gone in the wrong direction, witness the clueless people in power in the EPA.). But the downfall I think was the unified currency, which I suspect led to some member nations getting a bit irresponsible with their spending, expecting the rest of the EU to bail them out. And the same leading a bunch of unelected drones in Brussels going on their micromanaging power trip.

The fanatics and ideologues aren’t going to let go of the EU for the most part.

The unified currency was designed to create a crisis. The EU elites even said so back in the 90s.

Myths? Myths like the Euro being on the verge of collapse? Myths like several EU countries being on the verge of collapse> Myths like the unemployment rate in Spain, one of the most heavily populated EU countries, being 25%?

“false consciousness”

A Marxist term from a Polish minister?
