A notice of our open healthcare enrollment had this statement through it repeatedly: "Increased due to the requirements in the Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act..."

Any of you seeing the same thing? What kind of increases has anyone seen?

So much for Affordable. So much for not one more dime.

We’ll get our enrollment information here in Nov. to renew our coverage.

We’ll see.

I expect a nice increase (as usual) since “O” made himself ‘God’ of America.

In the past two years my coverage, for just myself, has gone from $360 to $525. That is with a $3500 deductable. Needless to say I really try to avoid going to the doctor.

I don’t have any health insurance, if I get that sick then it must be my due date to pass on.

I won’t buy any either, let them piss up a rope.

On the bright side, the market is starting to work again! Higher prices should decrease demand in a sane world!

of course everyone’s premiums are going to skyrocket!

insurers are being forced to cover people with pre-existing conditions or pay a small fine...

millions are just going to dump insurance until they need it and just pay the small fine. Then when they get sick or hurt they will go buy insurance that the insurance companies are now forced by law to sell them. This will drive costs up on the few who are not gaming the system to astronomical levels.

Just remind working people that their Federal and Social Security taxes are going up. It will be by 70% for the working poor.

Shows how much they care for the poor and the economy. That should do it.

Wait and see, after Obama gets elected he will find a reason to make into law a regulatory commission that will review every single persons weekly wage or salary and a committee will then decide just how much you need to survive on, the rest will be redistributed.

It was not whether Premiums would increase by Obamacare, but by how much. Your average number is a great help. Thank you.

Memo from our CFO:

Co-Pays up, deductions down.

Greeting to All,

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) mandates that annual employee salary reductions to “___” Health Care Spending Account (Health FSA) not exceed $2,500 for plan years on or after January 1, 2013. “___” current FSA limit exceeds this amount (i.e., we currently allow up to $5,000 for the Health Care Account for qualified out-of-pocket health care expenses that are not covered by “___” health plan or any other health plan).

Please find attached a Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) for the “__” Flexible Benefits Accounts (FSA) (”Plan”) which amends “___” Cafeteria Plan beginning 01/01/2013 by reducing the FSA annual contribution to the lesser of your salary reduction elected for the year or $2,500.

Our premiums have gone up by about $1500 since the advent of Obamascare. But that is the least of it. Hospital and medical expenses have almost doubled. For instance, three years ago, our yearly checkup and blood tests were covered on our end with a $25 dollar copay. Now, even though we are paying over $8500 a year, the copay is $30, and the out of pocket for the blood tests runs around $200. I went in with a bad knee a couple of weeks ago, and the labs hit me around $400, which are now over $600 because I needed additional x-rays of my skull to make certain I don’t have metal in it before getting an MRI. I dread seeing how much that is going to cost. And then there will be the surgery with a $200 copay, and whatever the insurance decides not to pay on the back side. ...About 12 years ago, I had a cancer surgery that had complications. The two hospital stays totaled 45 days, with all of the tests, the drugs and so on. My expense was $100. Our premiums at the time were about $6000 a year. ...Anyhow, to sum it up, with our out of pocket expenses added in, our insurance has gone up a couple of grand this year, so far.
