"Remember: Evil exists because good men don't kill the government officials committing it." -- Kurt Hofmann.
Where liberty dwells, there is my country." Benjamin Franklin
We didn’t call them the Hun JUST for propaganda.
Hitler, like Obama, suffered from NPD. We see from history what the end result will be like if Obama is reelected.
Antony Brevard and max hastings in their two recent histories of WW2 put the myth of Wehrmacht innocence in the grave. The responsibility went from the lowest landser to the highest divisional and army commanders. One thing is true. beyond the Holocaust, if you were alive and living between the Oder and the Urals from 1941-45 you were in Hell.
the second looks like SS and the third is definitely SS
the forth are SS officers
in the fifth one the guy looking at the camera again has an odd uniform and helmet but those in the background are most definitely SS
the sixth, no way to tell
This just in:
War is a bad business where very bad things happen, especially when civilians are thrown into the mix.
This is an email, minus the pictures, I received two days ago. The pictures are available at http://www.valorstudios.com/Franz-Stigler-Charlie-Brown.htm Verification that this is a true story is also available there.
Look carefully at the B-17 and note how shot up it is - one engine dead, tail, horizontal stabilizer and nose shot up. It was ready to fall out of the sky. (This is a painting done by an artist from the description of both pilots many years later.) Then realize that there is a German ME-109 fighter flying next to it. Now read the story below. I think you’ll be surprised...
Charlie Brown was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot with the 379th Bomber Group at Kimbolton , England . His B-17 was called ‘Ye Old Pub’ and was in a terrible state, having been hit by flak and fighters. The compass was damaged and they were flying deeper over enemy territory instead of heading home to Kimbolton.
After flying the B-17 over an enemy airfield, a German pilot named Franz Steigler was ordered to take off and shoot down the B-17. When he got near the B-17, he could not believe his eyes. In his words, he ‘had never seen a plane in such a bad state’... The tail and rear section was severely damaged, and the tail gunner wounded. The top gunner was all over the top of the fuselage. The nose was smashed and there were holes everywhere.
Despite having ammunition, Franz flew to the side of the B-17 and looked at Charlie Brown, the pilot.
Brown was scared and struggling to control his damaged and blood-stained plane.

Aware that they had no idea where they were going, Franz waved at Charlie to turn 180 degrees. Franz escorted and guided the stricken plane to, and slightly over, the North Sea towards England .. He then saluted Charlie Brown and turned away, back to Europe ...
When Franz landed he told the CO that the plane had been shot down over the sea, and never told the truth to anybody. Charlie Brown and the remains of his crew told all at their briefing, but were ordered never to talk about it.
More than 40 years later, Charlie Brown wanted to find the Luftwaffe pilot who saved the crew. After years of research, Franz was found. He had never talked about the incident, not even at post-war reunions.
They met in the USA at a 379th Bomber Group reunion, together with 25 people who were alive - all because Franz never fired his guns that day.

When asked why he didn’t shoot them down, Stigler later said, “I didn’t have the heart to finish those brave men. I flew beside them for a long time. They were trying desperately to get home and I was going to let them do that. I could not have shot at them. It would have been the same as shooting at a man in a parachute.”
Both men died in 2008.
This is a true story..
This was back in the days when there was some kind of honour in being a warrior. They proudly wore uniforms, and they didn’t hide behind women and children, nor did they plant bombs amidst innocent crowds.
(No, I am not of German heritage)
This is interesting. More news of carnage from World War II. Of course there was plenty of that going on all over. It does add to the overall picture. Of course, there is plenty of killing going on today.
I’m teaching “Night” in my classroom currently. Couldn’t help but mention that there are some countries in the world (and you can guess who) that still want all Jews killed.
Does anyone doubt that some on the rabid left would not like to do the same to conservatives, Christians, etc...true hate is a powerful force (not the concocted ‘hate’ we hear from the gay lobby)
From the point of view of the residents of the East (Europe, D’UH!) for something like 1,000 years (can you count to 100? 1,000 is like counting to 100 ten times!) the invaders from the West brought civilization, while the invaders from the East brought nothing but savagery! That held true during the WWII. (The barbarisms of war are assumed.)
Soros is still proud of his actions.
Ping.
That statement seemed a bit odd. What was state of the art in hidden microphones at that time? How did they record the microphones signals for later playback?
You throw it one way they are happy beer swilling louts, the other way they are ruthless killers.
