It seems the administration is hell bent on sticking with the "this isn't about America, it's about a film," argument when it comes to increasing violence from radical Islamists around the world. Despite images of rioters burning in effigy the American flag and photos and dolls representing President Obama in dozens of countries around the world, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said over the weekend that America isn't "impotent" in the Middle East and that the popularity of the United States hasn't been degraded.
After showing Rice a map of protests in 33 countries around the world in recent days, I asked Rice, “President Obama pledged to repair America’s relationships with the Muslim world. Why does the U.S. seem so impotent? And why is the U.S. even less popular today in some of these Muslim and Arab countries than it was four years ago?”
“We’re not impotent, we’re not even less popular, to challenge that assessment,” Rice said in response. “What happened this week in Cairo, in Benghazi and many other parts of the region was a result, a direct result, of a heinous and offensive video that was widely disseminated, that the U.S. government had nothing to do with, which we have made clear is reprehensible and disgusting.”
Apparently, the burning of Americans flags just isn't a strong enough indicator for this administration to understand what's really going on here.
Interesting phrasing, but exactly which planet is she referring to?
Maybe she meant “Americans” like Obama.
There was video on Fox this morning of militant Muslims in Pah-kee-stan burning a picture of Obama ...or maybe it was Alfred E. Newman.
The title should read:

that isn’t really what the administration is saying. rice’s comments, taken together with carney’s statement about the attacks not being about administration policy can only boil down to one thing:
the administration is saying, “this isn’t about us obamites. they love us. it’s the rest of you bass-ackwards americans that they hate”.
watch and listen. see if that isn’t the consistent theme running just beneath the surface.

I would advise Ambassador Rice to walk the streets of Libya or Egypt and suck up the love and take Barry, Pelosi, Reid, and Boxer along for the love feast.
The Romney campaign should be jumping all over this - any administration that doesn’t even recognize a terrorist attack when it hits them in the face should NOT be in charge of anything.

The non-Christian and non-Jewish elements in the Middle East despise America for what it is, that is, not Muslim.

If you are a tourist, avoid all the Middle East and North Africa as it is not safe at all. If your job requires travel to these areas, ask for protection and get life insurance that includes assassination and kid napping so your family is provided for after you are gone.
By middle east I assume she must be referring to Virginia, North and South Carolina areas of the United States. She’d be correct.

The phrase, “aren’t unpopular” is a funny thing without context.
