I don’t think it has to do with priorities. I think Cabinet members get protection while Ambassadors don’t. I remember in Korea, Ambassador Hill was at our functions quite often and he and his wife came without any protection. Although they did have a driver (who sat in the car until ready to go back home).
Hussein has a constituency that would vote for him even if this was non-stop breaking news. They are exactly the voters Romney mentioned, the ones who vote based on who will “pay my mortgage and fill up my gas tank” on the shrinking productive classes’ dime, and no other issue matters to these pigs lolling about in their own mud. If this country were invaded, their only concern would be if their “gimmees” were interrupted.
