Before Romney issued his statement today, an open mic capture the press coordinating questions to ask Romney, with one saying “no matter who he calls on we’re covered on the one question”. I’ve transcribed it to the best of my ability but the audio is below for verification:
I’ve labeled one as the CBS News reporter as I believe it is Nancy Cordes who works for CBS News. I’ve I gotten that wrong I apologize and will correct.
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: …pointing out that the Republicans… *unintelligible* …Obama….
CBS REPORTER: That’s the question.
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: *unintelligible*
CBS REPORTER: Yeah that’s the question. I would just say do you regret your question.
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Your question? Your statement?
CBS REPORTER: I mean your statement. Not even the tone, because then he can go off on…
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: And then if he does, if we can just follow up and say ‘but this morning your answer is continuing to sound…’ – *becomes unintelligble*
CBS REPORTER: You can’t say that..

CBS REPORTER: I’m just trying to make sure that we’re just talking about, no matter who he calls on we’re covered on the one question.
UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Do you stand by your statement or regret your statement?

Coordination is what the press does these days.
This is the perfect opportunity to throw any collaborating lefties off the debate panelist/moderator list.
Live by the liberal media, die by the liberal media.
We will remember who was dishonest, unfair, and/or un-American in the so-called reporting before the election.
What they say, they may have to live down, to put it nicely.
For the balance of the campaign, Romney should refer all press questions to Gingrich for response.

This is a very important story. It truly illuminates the dinosaur media bias against any conservatives or Republicans. I am not sure just how in the tank they are for Obama, but it is clear that they simply will do anything and everything they are able to in order to distort the record in favor of liberals.

I believe Newt put it right when he said the media was doing everything they can but it just isn’t working. In the end I believe most voters will look around them in horror and vote for Romney because they see that nothing is getting better (or will with The Sultan).

Romney should be fine; Obama unscripted/without a teleprompter is his own worst enemy. He can’t answer every Romney attack with “Let me be clear here...” followed by dead air.

I agree; I guess the fear is that they won’t reach anyone not watching the conservative press. I’d imagine at some point in the not-so-distant future (if we’re not there already) there will be more “likely voters” watching Fox than MSNBCNN combined; the libs I know watch The Daily Show for their political news (I kid you not).

Romney did step in it this time. His condemnation of the embassy statement apologizing to the attackers was fine, to to tear into obama like he did before obama even issued a statement was a huge screw up, and this will hurt him big time. And now he has made this all about himself. Now he is the main story, not the attacks on the embassies.
The only people upset are people that never were going to vote for Romney anyway...relax, he did good, he finally brought some passion into his campaign.
Obama still has not responded more than 24 hours later. Your reply was not only idiotic but also exposes you as a mere Romney hater. We are all dumber for having had to read your words, checkersPlayer.

Like you I am speechless and unfortunately not clueless. It is as bad as we intuit.
I just drove from fort worth to Taos today so my info was very minimal..but believe me...anyone paying attention knows that Obama has screwed up.big time and that the media is all about protecting Obama from any perceived fallout from his epic fail of response. I am still speechless and fixing to go on a trout fly fishing adventure in the Colorado outback and I am frankly scared to be out of touch.......Obama could blow up the whole world with his incompetence in less than 24 hours!!
