The senior commander for Special Operations forces in Afghanistan has suspended training for all new Afghan recruits until the more than 27,000 Afghan troops working with his command can be re-vetted for ties to the insurgency.
The move comes as NATO officials struggle to stem the tide of attacks on NATO forces by their Afghan colleagues. The attacks, which have killed 45 troops this year, have forced NATO officials to acknowledge a painful truth: Many of the incidents might have been prevented if existing security measures had been applied correctly.
But numerous military guidelines were not followed by Afghans or Americans because of concerns that they might slow the growth of the Afghan army and police, according to NATO officials.

An American soldier should NEVER be forced to meet with an Afghani policeman, guardist, or official unarmed. To hamstring our soldiers with politically correct ROEs is murder, plain and simple.
Thank you Mr Odumbo for bungling another area of your responsibility and letting our troops get killed. FOR NO DAMN REASON!!!!!
We aren’t capable of vetting our own President, how the hell are we going to vet these rag-heads????
And then the Aussies apparently took matters into their own hands...
The only change in policy that is needed is that all Afghan recruits are to attend mandatory target practice (where they are the targets).
What? Seriously?? Why would this policy be needed? Gosh,,our Generals are always SO far out in front of potential problems. The blinding speed of their response leaves me in the dust. I can barely keep up with them.///
This is almost as amazing as their response to the IEDs on the MSRs in Iraq. They were on top of that within like, 5 or 6 years!//
Why is the vetting process suddenly necessary?
We have a guy in the WH who has never been vetted and notice how that oversight has bitten us in the national ass.
Just drop the bomb. Drop it twice for that matter.
Putting lipstick on these pigs is not going to change them!!
“until the more than 27,000 Afghan troops working with his command can be re-vetted for ties to the insurgency”
They’ll vet them for everything except being a moslem. A silly pointless exercise with an impossible goal. They are all rife with shady contacts, friends, family members, and all are moslems,,there for the money. The ones who will go sudden jihad will even LIE! (gasp)
Give me one ‘button’...you take the ‘other’......
My vetting process would include a private interview with giving the recruit a waeapon he thinks is loaded with live ammo.
Then burn some koran pages, spill some pig blood on him and describe mohamamadman as the pedophile he is. If he shows no
sign of aggression then he can move on to the boot camp phase.

brother, greedy I’m not. I would give all the dang ‘buttons’ if I had them.
Too many of my Family suffered over the Afagan pricks and their revoluition. Just drop the dang bomb and end it.
Why does this kind of crap never ‘GO ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP” during a Democrat Presidency but it’s always the President’s fault when a Republican is President? It’s a rhetorical question, I know the answer, “Democrats care more and just want to do it right”. Democrats are like high school bullies, they could give a rat’s rear end about the reality of what they inflict on other people... the ones not like them.
Dad, never came home.
I say wipe them out or get out.
0pansy is such the girly sissy to never do anything.

After all this time, why are the Afghans not training their own? What happened to train the trainers?
Wasn’t Petraeus in charge of training the Afghan police? Maybe he’ll write about that in his book.
