Mitt Romney: 'No one's ever asked to see my birth certificate'

COMMERCE, Mich. — Did Mitt Romney make a birther joke?

It sure seemed like it Friday morning as he made remarks before a crowd of more than 10,000 here in Michigan, the state where he was born and raised.

“I love being home, in this place where Ann and I were raised, where both of us were born,” Romney said as his wife, Ann, and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) stood next to him on the podium.

“Ann was born in Henry Ford Hospital, I was born in Harper Hospital. No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate; they know that this is the place where both of us were born and raised,” he said.

Romney actually did release his birth certificate in May.

Kristinn - you do so much and I appreciate all you do. I don’t know if it was your typo or the media’s, but I heard that there was a crowd of 10,000 rather than 1,000 (missing an important 0). When they did a small span of the crowd, looked like more than 1k to me.

Probably because Mitt wasn’t born to a teen knocked up by a married foreigner, and his selective service card looks like everyone else’s, and Mitt is the first user of his Social Security Number.
