A national group representing off-highway recreationists is suing the U.S. Forest Service to try to overturn a new travel management plan on national forest lands in the Sierra west of Reno they say is overly restrictive. The Pacific Legal Foundation said in a lawsuit filed recently the agency plan adopted in 2010 illegally closed more than 800 miles of roads and trails the public has used for years in the Tahoe National Forest.

Similar disputes are under way in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, primarily in northeast Nevada's Elko County, and in the Eldorado National Forest in California mostly west of Lake Tahoe.

the Forest Service is deviating from its congressional mandate for multiple use. The entire process is a farce. It's clear the Forest Service doesn't want the public in the forest.

It’s long past time when the citizens, particularly of the large states west of the Mississippi, start the process of reclaiming the lands that they were force to cede to the Federal Government as their price for admission to the Union. The Federal Government has no right to “own” more than 80 % of Nevada and similar high percentages of other western states.

That is the gospel truth. The USFS started closing roads in the Malheur and Ochoco National Forests in Eastern Oregon 30 or so years ago, I'd bet they've been doing it in all the western states.

When China comes looking to get paid there are a lot of timber, mineral and water resources that will have to be given over.

All part of the plan, Comrade.

Also throughout the Idaho Panhandle National Forests.

Mullan, Idaho, the “City with a 1,000 Miles of Trails” woke up one day to discover itself to be the “City with the Trails Closed.”

This is part of the plan to move rural America off the land. Once the Forest Service was staffed by loggers and foresters. It is now staffed in the main by true-believer enviro-tyrants. The orders of the day come from Agenda 21 and the UN.

It’s not that they don’t want the public in the forest, it’s that they don’t want anyone but hikers who are willing to hike miles and miles and miles to get into the wilderness to enjoy it.

Thanks for the ping, dlfromthedesert!

If you want to be on or off the Agenda 21 ping list, please notify me by Freepmail. It is a relatively low volume list in which we have been exploring the UN Agenda21 and related topics. We have collected our studies with threads, links, and discussions on the Agenda 21 thread which can be found here:
