The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Romney with 48% support to President Obama’s 47%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) are undecided.

In late July, it was Obama 49%, Romney 46%. This is the Republican’s largest level of support yet in the Badger State. Prior to this survey, the president has earned 45% to 52% of the vote, while Romney has picked up 41% to 46% of the vote.

...

Obama beat Senator John McCain in Wisconsin in 2008 with 56% of the vote.

I think pollsters should be required to make public the exact numbers if there are oversampling of democrats or Republicans in each of their polls.

Until then, I consider them unreliable or downright fraudulent.

Poll was taken on 8/15 and reflects the Ryan bump. I was hoping the Ryan pick would boost Romney more than 2 pts. in WI, but it’s early yet and people still aren’t paying attention.

THIS is how you know surveys are bunk. There is so much positive energy behind Conservatism right now that to display just a 1% difference is a dead give-away.

Well, they did mention that Romney is +3 among independents with 11% undecided, so we know that this poll is oversampling democrats.

But the MSM was so smug after the Walker win with the meme that the Moron-In-Chief was still was ahead in Wisconsin.

I thought Rasmussen was usually reliable. I could speculate why they would purposely? downplay Romney’s numbers.

RAS is hot, always called it, is the standard for polling and has the after election results to prove it. Whether we get it or not, they are usually on the money within their margin of error.

___________

Ras is very reliable...

The trend is our friend...Romney was down 3...so this is a 4 point bump. Plus, this shows Obama the incumbent well below 50%...Love it...

Looks like Romney has been tracking at or near 48% which is a good sign. The big test will be September. If Romney and Ryan can get a good sized bump after the RNC convention in Tampa, which I am betting on, by September 21st Romney/Ryan will at 51%.

“There is more Dems in Wisc. Ras sample is probably dead on.”

I agree and those Reagan Democrats in WI won’t be voting for Obama.
