BURLINGTON, Vermont (Reuters) - A Mennonite minister was found guilty on Tuesday of aiding a kidnapping by helping a woman flee to Nicaragua with her daughter to evade court orders giving visitation rights to her former lesbian partner. The case drew widespread attention as gay rights groups and evangelical Christian groups took opposing sides in the legal battle between the two women over Isabella Miller-Jenkins, now 10. Federal prosecutors say Kenneth Miller of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, helped orchestrate Lisa Miller's flight to Canada and Nicaragua in 2009 with her daughter out of Christian solidarity with her decision to reject homosexuality and her former partner. The two Millers are not related.

Instead of surrendering the child, Lisa fled to South America, where she is still on the run with Isabella. Now the people who helped her escape are being rounded up by the US government. Sad situation for all involved.
Im vay but this is.sickening. God help us all.

Here is a question that is going to come up on appeal, what jurisdiction does the Vermont court have on a 3rd party from another state in a custody agreement? There is a nasty precedent that will be set here as this will probably go to the Supreme Court. I do remember the twists and turns the Virginia Supreme Court had to deal with in this case and they basically punted the ball back to Vermont considering Virginia does not recognize Civil Unions.
Is there a place to donate to this guy?
But the sodomites are delighted.
Also, Janet Jenkins would have not gotten joint custody in Virginia due to not being a blood relative. If this had not been a “Special Case”, Virginia would have took over the Custody agreement due to the child being physically present in the state. If this was a mother vs step-father case, it would have never made it out of the first hearing.
I have not seen one... I am afraid that at this point the best donations may be books... Sad.
I have never seen Isabella Miller's name with the hyphenated -Jenkins. I think this is more of the liberal bias in portraying Isabella as partially "owned" by the satanic, Christian hater Janet Jenkins. My understanding is that Lisa broke off the relationship, then moved to Virginia where she gave birth to Isabella. For the first 4 years or so, Janet Jenkins never saw the child and never expressed any interest in her. It was only after Lisa became a born again Christian, that lezzie Janet Jenkins sued for joint custody and visits. After Isabella was forced to bathe naked with Janet Jenkins and returned home, with bed wetting & nightmares, that is when Lisa refused to allow any more weekend visits. .... and the RAT bastard Vermont judge in a hissy fit, gave full custody rights to the dyke lezzie Janet Jenkins.
I am a born again Christian, and I simply cannot fathom how God can allow the natural birth child of Lisa Miller to be given to a former, hate-filled satanic, Christian hater Janet Jenkins. God, I pray... destroy this RAT bastard Vermon judge and Janet Jenkins, and all those (including the cowardly Virginia court) who have perpetuated this travesty.
A judge gave custody to a woman who never saw the child for four years? What a tragedy.
This Pastor is a hero.
I think the biological mother’s mistake that precipitated the whole case was seeking child support from her ex-partner. That gave the other person the right to demand visitation.
In one of the original articles, it stated “Ms. Jenkins signed a promise to pay child support, and they agreed, she said, that she and her parents would remain in Isabellas life.” If you demand money, you’re keeping the other person tied to you.
If the mother wanted the option to dissolve the union and just move out and never see the other, she shouldn’t have demanded money.
