Video: Gingrich wonders whether Piers Morgan belongs to the Mantra Club (Wipe Out)
Hot Air ^ | August 14,2012 | ED MORRISSEY

Posted on 08/14/2012 6:51:06 AM PDT by Hojczyk

Even those of us who couldn’t quite bring ourselves to back Newt Gingrich in the primaries hoped that he would play a big role in the general election as a surrogate. This video demonstrates why. Gingrich reacts to Piers Morgan’s suggestion that the “big flaw” in Ryan’s budget was that the rich would do well, and in two minutes teaches Economics 101, accuses Morgan of media bias, and rips the Obama economy as the “worst recovery in 75 years.” And that’s just Newt getting warmed up, as Newsbusters highlights:

NEWT GINGRICH: You know, I don’t want to sound disrespectful, but I do wonder sometimes if you guys all get off in a little club and learn a brand new mantra and then all repeat it mindlessly. The fact is, these kinds of things were said about Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan’s tax cut – which was developed by Jack Kemp who Paul Ryan worked for – Ronald Reagan’s tax cut raised more people to middle class status, took more people out of poverty, created more jobs.

You know, this is the core thing that liberals don’t get. If you want to have jobs, you have to encourage job creators. If you discourage job creators, if you engage in class warfare, if you do what Barack Obama’s been doing, you have what we currently have. This is the worst recovery in 75 years.

Now, nobody in the media seems to want to come to grips with the fact that the Obama economic policy is a disaster for the poor. Look at the unemployment rate for black teenagers. Look at the unemployment rate for Latino teenagers. At what point do we hold the president accountable for a policy which is crippling the poor in America by crushing the economy under big government?

Oh how I wish Newt could’ve gotten the nomination... a fighter who is armed with bold truth and not afraid to use it.

Problem is, Newt, that the Marxists MEAN to destroy the economy, and the poor (Blacks and Hispanics) are the useful idiots. This is all on purpose, and is NOT a failed policy.

Mccain, Christie, etc. are going to speak at the convention. Is NEWT going to get a turn? This is the man I want to hear.

Newt is simply the best at this! And, by not being the GOP candidate, he is completely unleashed to be his very best.

I do hope he has a very full TV appearance schedule over the next 90 days!

AND, a future position as POTUS Press Secretary.

Why CNN? Newt would have a bigger audience doing a test pattern.

Ah, press secretary would be PERFECT.

Also, he needs to be the presidential debate consultant.

Since the MSM has picked far left-wing ideologues as “moderators”, Romney and Ryan need to “go Newt” on these moderators.

The article, not Newt, had a great throw away line:

Barack Obama obviously loves the poor - that’s why he’s made so many more of them during his administration.

Who will get to be in the audience?

If Romney and Ryan ‘go newt’ on the moderators will they get the thundering applause? or will the audience be hand-picked obama supporters?

Romney should just tell them he will not even participate if they just keep packing the panel with libtards

ORGANIZE OUR OWN “DEBATES” - WHO LET THE MEDIA PICK THEM????

“Is NEWT going to get a turn?”

Good point! I’ve been so preoccupied with whether Palin will speak that I forgot about Newt.

I think both of them will speak.

Everyone needs to hear this clip, and the pubbies are fools not to say this kind of thing clearly every day. Every. single. day.

Hmmm...

Between Rachel getting b!tch-slapped on Meet The Press Sunday, and now Newt coming down hard on CNN’s resident blowhard - are we seeing the beginning of a trend where Pubble spokespersons are no longer going to sit in a xanax stupor and nod at the Lib diatribes??

Hey - I can dream, can’t I??

The answer from our candidates when asked a “gotcha” question ought to be to respond as if a totally different question had been asked. Keep hawking on the same points over and over again, the economy, jobs, the presidents utter and complete failures in every area of restoring America to growth.

I think it’s been announced that Palin will not be speaking. Christie will be the keynote speaker, and Rubio will put Romeny’s name in nomination. As far as who else is speaking, I don’t know.

The economy is stalled, unemployment is over 8%, and the libs are worried that rich people might benefit from a tax-cut induced, reinvigorated economy. I guess in lib logic, it’s bad if a rich person manages to have a nice profit out of situation where the economy improves and people who previously were unemployed now have jobs. How stupid are these people?

God Bless you Newt, I'm with you. And as for ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and the rest of those “so-called” news outlets, it would be nice to hear “news” and not “opinions”. Opinions are a lot like rectums, everybody has one and on some of these imitation newscasters it's hard to tell which is what.

“Press Secretary”. Would the Press even show up? They would be shown exactly what they are in 2 seconds. Newts destiny is to destroy the MSM.
