Oh man. My Universities didn’t make it....Florida State for the Bachelor’s and George Washington for my MBA. What a rip...lol
One thing that Hillsdale college has done recently that I really like. You can still become a teacher through Hillsdale college but not without getting a 4 year degree in something solid first.
If you absolutely want to get the teaching degree at the same time you’re working on the 4 year degree, Hillsdale will refer you to Spring Arbor college 20 miles to the north for specific classes.
That counts against a college in my book.
If only we could view the list. The link has no list.
Occidental College is only #25 on the Most Liberal list? Poor Obama must have felt almost like a minority there...er...
Not sure if I would trust an evaluation of conservative schools from Newsweek/The Daily Beast, which are far to the left. It would be interesting if there is a survey from a conservative group.
The absence of my school, Hillsdale College, is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe they didn’t count Hillsdale because we don’t take any local, state, or federal government aid.
Maybe what you want to do is send your kid to a conservative college for two years to get a solid grounding in the basics, then send them to a liberal school for the last two, to prepare them for the battle that lies ahead.
Unfortunately, most of these colleges are unknown (BYU being an exception). So it’s not clear what a degree from such a place is worth in the job market.
Interesting bias in that list.
They feel the need to give the state for a huge, nationally known university (BYU) but not for a tiny school with no reputation, located in the middle of nowhere. (Come on, how many outside of Henderson Tennessee who aren’t members of the Church of Christ have heard of ‘Freed-Hardeman’?
Actually Troy University when I attended was a very conservative college.
I can remember a few who were former military who were hard core. I especially remember Col. Williams. He was big and mean looking and most of us were a bit afraid of him. He had a tendency to glare at you.
I once visited his office and was surprised that he was both friendly and cordial. I guess he saved the hard face for class.
I had another who was former Army intelligence and he too was hard core. Also a bit of survivalist. I did have one liberal prof. but even he loved guns and shooting.
Christendom College and Hillsdale do NOT accept fed $$ for ANYthing. That alone should qualify them.
Also, no Thomas Aquinas College?!
It's not surprising since the church of Christ is very Conservative in all aspects. Going back to my college years, George S. Benson (Harding President) articulated the threat of Communism vs. Capitalism. It's a bit dated, from 1962, but Dr. Benson's words still stir real Americans about the threat of liberalism and its communist cousin.
I didn’t see Cooper Union on the list.
BS;if Hillsdale isn’t on this list then it is bogus.
At one time, I would have wondered why out military academies are not amongst those named as conservative. To paraphrase Inspector Clouseau....”not any more”
The Obamadork and his liberal minions have taken schools with much more history, importance, education and morality than Harvard/Yale/etc combined and is rapidly turning them into advanced versions of our public schools.
As soon as they can void the requirement that the academies provide a bachelor of science - and change that to the vapid bachelor of arts...the deed is done. Vapidness and mediocrity will ensue.
The academies will have lowered their standards to a state where even the Obamadorkfelonidiotcretinpieceofsh*t could 1) enter and 2) graduate.
I am an alum of #8! Beautiful college with fantastic views from high atop Lookout Mountain Georgia. And yes, VERY conservative. Go Scots!
well where is Wake Forest?
Sorry, don't buy it.
The new Administration, under Jim Towey, seems to be doing things right.
