Democratic Party Faces Lawsuit Over Clayton Nomination (TN)
News Channel 5 - Nashville ^ | Aug. 7, 2012 | Ben Hall

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Democratic Party is vowing to fix the candidate review process that allowed Mark Clayton to become the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate.

The promise came after one of the candidates who lost to Clayton promised to sue the party.

Democrat Larry Crim, who finished fourth in last week's primary, says party leaders should have researched Mark Clayton and kept him off the ballot.

"Mr. Forrester did not do his duty to screen this democratic candidate," Larry Crim said.

Crim blames party chairman Chip Forrester for the embarrassing mess.

A letter from state Coordinator of Elections, Mark Goins, to Larry Crim states "Although Chip Forrester had the authority in April to disqualify Mr. Clayton, he did not do so."

So what’s the deal with Mark Clayton, are they afraid he’s a DINO?

The letter quotes the Democratic Party's bylaws which state if a candidate fails to vote in at least three of the last five democratic primaries he can be challenged as "not being a bona fide member of the democratic party" and kept off the ballot.

And I'm of the mind that you should have to STRAIGHT PARTY vote in a general election before you can vote in the primary for the GOP. Unfortunately, this will never be the case. I don't care once you're in the party affiliation, but too often people cross over to weaken the candidacy and then go back to the Rats in the general election.

Mark does not bow at the democrat’s sacrimental alter of killing the alive unborn. The ‘tolerant’ democrats can’t tolerate a pro-lifer in their ranks.

so for the crime of being pro-life, he should have been researched and disqualified?

...yet they approved Obama, without even checking his long form... when his own author bio at the time, claimed he was born in Kenya ? Connecticutt S.S.N. ? ... 2 digit stamp on his selective service form instead of 4 ?

So much for being a Party Of The People, Y’all!

Even if you meet age and residency requirements, you would have to EXTEND your residency to include 3 election cycles AND vote in the Democrat primary each time and THEN you are eligible to run THE NEXT TIME AROUND.

Keeps the young uppity folks out of their Rat infested machine.

How can they keep him off? In TN all you have to do is get the signatures and file. The parties don’t control that.

They may well think he’s a DINO. Actually, I think they think he’s a TEA Partier. They keep showing a pic of him at one of his campaign stops, surrounded by some men dressed as what looks like Minutemen. They’re all holding rifles so I guess that’s suppsed to show he’s pro-2nd Amendment. That’s another strike against Mark in their dim minds.

I will be voting for the first Democrat in my life for Clayton.

I truly hate Bob Corker. With a passion. With a massive passion. A seriously hardcore passion. I’d give my life to see him suffer in hell passion.

Did I mention I hate Bob Corker?

Several TN Republican citizens have been fighting for closed primaries to stop the cross-over voting. Right now, we’re concentrating on Nov. but after the elections, we’re going full-bore on those closed primaries.
We succeeded in getting photo ID to vote passed, so maybe we’ll succeed in this too. We aren’t giving up.

I’ve emailed Channel 5 talking heads a couple of times already about their continuous “he belongs to a hate group” dialogue. I’m waiting for a response to my question, “What’s hateful about respect for all life?” Still hearing crickets.

I’ve considered emailing the Dem Party but I really don’t want a bunch of their junk filling my inbox forever afterwards.

The TN Dems going to regret going this route. Already, the questions about the lack of vetting Obamarx are cropping up and at some point, they’re going to have to answer to that.

Clayton is VP of the Public Advocate of the United States located in Falls Church, Virginia, which is a group that opposes same-sex marriage. The SPLC (yeah, I know) calls it an anti-gay hate group.

I’m not fond of Corker, either, but I can’t make myself vote for Clayton. Too much is not known about his other beliefs at this point.

They did play a short clip tonight of him talking about being against any expansions of NATO and our involvement, and it came across as too much like the liberal anti-war/anti-military stance. I wish they’d played more of that conversation so I could have gotten a better feel for his views.

Clayton appears to be a Paulistinian from here in TN, and may well be to the Right of Corker (R).

That possibility crossed my mind when I heard the short clip of him speaking tonight.

As for possibly being Right of Corker, who knows? I've tried going to his web site to find out more about him but there's nothing there. It says:

I tried to check it out today as well. I dug into some other places, thus the word MAY in my statement. I doubt he will pan out, but it would be funny if he outperformed Ford from the last time.
