Congrats to all the Texas Freepers who voted for Cruz.
It is an historic night. Not only in Texas, but the entire
conservative nation.

Why? Because you have provided a road map of how to slay RINO’s. And your victory tonight will enbolden many qualified
Tea-Party candidates to run against these RINO’s, with the knowledge that the RINO money won’t buy them a seat.
It proves that with a great credible candidate, Conservative
Superpacs to help balance the money playing field and the backing and support of millions in the conservative nation
victory can be had!
A truly historic night for Texans and the conservative nation.!!!

Thanks, I figured it was something like that.

Dewhurst ran some of the sleaziest ads I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been watching politics since Kennedy was nominated.

He’s a self-promoter and an ally of Rick Perry, who probably couldn’t get elected today, either, were he running.

Texas is doing much better than much of the country right now. We are in relatively good shape, but it’s not due to Dewhurst and Perry, although they claim credit.

Our secret is less government, not more, including a legislature that meets 3 months every two years and then goes home to their jobs and constituency.

Two places with lines in Texas today: Republican polling places and Chick-Fil-A.

Looks like, Cruz, Devine, Pittman, and Stockman are winners. Every one of them is a candidate that the slimy GOPe in Austin didn’t want.

Thanks for the info. I turned against Perry back when he was trying to force Gardasil vaccines on every pre-teen girl in TX, and I never thought Kay Bailey H. was worth much.

Wish Okie legislators would meet less often. One question.. why hasn’t Texas switched to using Tag Agencies for license plates and such like OK does? I remember standing in lines for hours to get license plates in Texas from some surly bureaucrat at a county office.

I’m not sure what a “Tag Agency” is, but I’ve always gotten license plates and stickers by mail. Perhaps things have changed here...

I guess it was because we moved from another state that we had to go to the county courthouse (I think it was) and go through that ordeal. When you renew your plates, it is by mail.

Tag agencies are private businesses that contract with the state, and there are numerous locations. You can get your plates and renew drivers’ licenses (unless you are from out of state again!) at any of them. Since they take most of the burden off the DMV offices, it is much easier and faster when you do have to go to the DMV. Also, probably for that reason, the DMV folks here are nicer and easier to deal with than the crabby folks at the TX offices.

Still hoping that TX will secede and take OK with it! ;-)
