Roughly one in five illegal immigrants arrested for a crime committed additional ones within three years of their release, according to a House Judiciary Committee report to be released Tuesday.
The findings are the result of the committees subpoena request for Department of Homeland Security records from October 2008 to July 2011.
The information was analyzed by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, which also broke down the information for criminal immigrants -- legal immigrants who committed crimes and were arrested again over the three-year period.
The records show 276,412 reported charges against illegal and criminal immigrants over that three-year period as identified by Secure Communities, a federal program that essentially attempts to make best use of resources by identifying and prioritizing which illegal immigrants pose the biggest threat to public safety and should be arrested or deported.

So at a deportation rate of a million a month...how long would that take?
What are the odds that 20% is way too low? Our gov just loves them some bogus numbers.
How much would that cost?
One thing for sure, it is mucho cheaper to catch and deport dreamers than it is to catch and deport these illegals who are in the crime business.

That's a trick question,isn't it! After all,they come in at 2 million a month.
The true rate is 100%. Being here illegally IS a crime. This country just has too many people who benefit from that crime to want to stop it.
Maybe we should hire the illegals to do the jobs Americans aren’t willing to do.
Like deporting other illegal aliens.
You strip away their camouflage if those around them deport back. Any slum provides cover for a criminal element.
It doesen't matter how many you deport. What matters is how quick they get back in. I know a man, an illegal. He was arrested numerous times for DUI and controlled substance. Once again he was incarcerated. His lawyer was able to get a plea to drop the DUI and CS charges for a guilty on the illegal alien charge. He was deported. Yea it worked. But wait, there's more. In 10 days he was illegally (coyote)back in Dallas. Foutunately, this time, one of his friends turned him in and he is back in jail awaiting a trial.
If 20% are caught committing a crime within 3 years, what % committed a crime and were not caught?
Criminals are arrested for only a small percentage of the crimes they actually commit.
How about ALL of them ?
Crime rates in CA have plummeted in the past several years, coincidentally corresponding with the worsening economy here and the departure of many illegals to more profitable regions.
They are all moving to Texas for the stoop labor jobs...Lets hope the trend continues and more Muslims follow them.
100%
