Brian Ross of ABC News erroneously identified the Aurora, Colorado, movie theater shooter as a member of the Tea Party Patriots. The man accused of firing an assortment of weapons into a packed theater, killed 12 and wounded 59. ABC misidentified James Holmes, the alleged shooter, age 24, as 52-year-old James Holmes of the Colorado Tea Party Patriots.
This, of course, should come as no surprise. Keen observers of the American political scene view The Tea Party as most responsible for the dramatic reversal of fortunes afflicting the Obama presidency and the Democratic Party since the midterm elections of 2010.
With the president's political viability waning with each dismal economic report, is it any wonder that a desperate Obama-media would further impugn the growing small-government Tea Party movement?
Although ABC eventually posted a correction on its website, the lie is out and viral; I believe Ross's Tea Party smear was intentional.
The Hitlerian big lies concerning the Tea Party will come fast and furious right up to November 6. This is just the start.
So, let's make some assumptions about the shooter based on the facts as we know them: James Holmes was attending the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus - studying neuroscience; He was described by those who knew him as a "super nice kid," "kinda quiet" and "really smart"; and an ABC news update claims the alleged shooter "dyed his hair like The Joker ... a well-known villain in the fictional batman universe."
We have a very smart university student unable to separate reality from comic book fantasy ... smart in the ways of brain science no less. Disseminating fantasies is what the modern university does so well. It does not teach students to think critically in pursuit of the truth. Instead, it teaches Progressive theology that sees as dangerous any challenge to its fragile orthodoxy. Unable to argue the wisdom of its quasi religion, Progressives demonize all challengers, declaring them heretics "outside the mainstream."
"You see," says The Joker in the Batman film "The Dark Knight," "their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."
That is a perfect distillation of the moral relativism disseminated by today's university system and a jaded mainstream media.
If the mad act of James Holmes has a trigger, it emanates from the relativist moral swamp of our Progressive age.
Under the terms of moral relativism, Brian Ross's Tea Party slur isn't necessarily wrong. Ross apologists can simply claim he was "just ahead of the curve."

Why cannot there be consequences for these vicious media people when they politicize these terrible tragedies in an effort to blame people they might want to hurt? Brian Ross needs to be investigated..Who is he, really. To what groups does he belong..Where did he go to school..What did his classmates say about him? Has he ever been in trouble..Does he have any kind of record? These people need to be held responsible for floating out a lie at a time like this. This other man, named by Ross was hurt by this. I hope he can sue Ross personally for the damage done to him. It is time Mr. Ross learns how it feels to be falsely accused.
Hate crime alert! Really, outside of race, politics and religion are the most divisive elements. Isn’t that what hate crimes are for? Zimmerman could file a hate crime complaint. Apparently gun ownership is another huge issue.
Excellent.
The Joker also said, “Some people just want to watch the world burn.” That describes the mentality of a certain percentage of the Left as well.
Are there any sex offenders in the country who go by the name Brian Ross? May be the same guy.....
I’ll take it one step further. I think the TEA party Jim Holmes should hire a lawyer, a big time lawyer who is not afraid to take on ABC and sue them. Let them twist in the wind for awhile as the trial is reported by other news agencies every night on the nightly news. I do not believe this was an “oops” moment for Ross. I bet the TEA party website was the first one he went to and thought he FINALLY had something to burn them with. They will continue to behave like this because they always get away with it by issuing an apology. Someone needs to hold them accountable.
Or was that enemas ?
Whatever, add 10 years and that joker wannabe looks like a flaming Marxist I did some computer work for in an old Hollywood bungalow.
If we are going to hold the MSM accountable, then we have to be accurate. What BR said was there was a "James Holmes" in the CO Tea Party, and "stressed" it might not be the same James Holmes as the shooter.
I'm not debating the intent of what Brian Ross was trying to accomplish, but please let's try to be a little more accurate.
They scurry behind the First Amendment and call their critics McCarthyites.
There are things we can do, but we're not organizing to do them. There are things we can do individually.
Individually we can recognize the fact that most people still get the content of their forebrains by the MSM, mainly tv, and by public education. So if you could intervene in just one instance, you'd be doing something besides keyboarding your distress about the left. Buy someone a computer and show them how to use it. If you've got more to offer, pay someone's tuition to a school untainted by leftist ideology. (This presumes you have already removed your own children from public schooling.)
It's a start. Each of us must ask himself, have I made that start?
While we're at it, there's nothing to prevent most of us from doing what people like James O'Keefe are doing. Have you been to theprojectveritas.org yet?
The first, and most prominent “Here’s your sign” moment for Ross, a supposedly “news professional”, is the use of Facebook as a source for investigative journalism.
Facebook is the “home” for a lot of “Jokers” in America. People post what want others to know, or think, about themselves. Using FB for a background check, or personality profile, is ludicrous.
Ross - like most liberal news dorks - is on a mission. His mission is to promote liberalism, protect Obama, and do all he can to destroy conservatives.
The MSM still doesn’t understand that the TEA party movement is not an organized, local service club. They can’t corral it and/or focus any one person to bring it down. “Taming” the TEA party is like trying to herd cats, and the frustration of the left in their attempts proves it.
As their credibility crumbles, and their ratings plummet, the MSM are grasping at every straw man they can to turn the tide in their favor, but their charade is futile.
Ross apologists can simply claim he was “just ahead of the curve.”
The song dead mans curve comes to mone, speed kills sometimes.
Brian Ross needs to be asked how he did the search. Was it “Jim Holmes” or was it “Tea Party Jim Holmes”?
