The Supreme Court's ruling in Obamacare v. the United States of America is yet another body blow to the U.S. Constitution's principle of limited government and the freedom tradition, but there is a major upside.
Despite President Obama's opposition to an individual mandate when he was debating Hillary Clinton during the Democratic presidential primaries and despite his postelection insistence that Obamacare's mandate does not constitute a tax, his lawyers insisted otherwise, and the Supreme Court bought it. So we have a law with enormous reach -- one-seventh to one-sixth of the economy -- having been fundamentally misrepresented to the American people from the beginning.

Many people have Mr. RomneyCARE’s deathpanel YOKE, already.
Like the pRes_ _ent, Mr. RomneyCARE takes both sides
of the issues and lies. America is in great peril.

Yes, good article.
I am taking a breather from all of this and will wait to see if the tea party momentum actually coaleaces. I am sure it will but emotionally I am drained....and totally PO’ed that this travesty is considered constitutional.
Obamas Healthcare was sitting with him on the decks of the Titanic.
The life boats are all gone.
Suddenly SCOTUS throws him a life preserver.
Except its full of lead.
Obam and his Affordable Health Care Act will sink to the darkest reach of the ocean because its NOW A BIG TAX.
So if this is a “tax” why are some companies exempt from this “tax”?
They asked for an exemption because they said they could not afford more “tax” When big companies are being given “tax” exemptions how is that fair to the average Joe who is mandated to pay this “tax”?
More than a silver lining. I’ll take the temporary affirmation of ObamaCare in exchange for the long-term reduction in Congressional regulatory power under the commerce clause any day of the week.

The lemonade that can be made is a full exposure of what will happen after implementation, from the death panels to employers dropping health insurance plans en masse.
SCOTUS has effectively told Congress that no matter how well they think they've disguised it, a tax is a tax. A penalty is a tax, a fine is a tax. The meaning of a tax has taken on a much broader definition than it had previously.
We all knew that it was a tax, even though Democrats denied it. Their denial gave fig leaves to the crucial votes they needed to get it passed. The bill passed on a false premise and the American people now know they were lied to.
What's Obama going to say in defense? "I had no idea Congress was voting to raise taxes." How stupid does that sound?
And how are the Democrats (remember not a single Republican voted for this) going to deny they raised taxes? "We didn't know the penalty was a tax." How well is that answer going to play-it makes them sound like idiots who didn't even read or understand the legislation they voted for.
I can't wait for the August town meetings although I'm sure the Rats are going to go into hiding again.
Good Post.
We were all sorta waiting to see what you were going to do. Now what?
This just elected Romney president. You really are dense.
They sound like idiots because they actually didn't read or understand it and only an idiot would vote for a bill where the contents were unknown. Sort of like all the 'idiots' who voted for Obama ... content also unknown. So now we have to deal with the horrendous Obamatax .... and the equally horrendous Obama. The 'idiots' need their feet held to fire until they are well-done they need to be 'done' as a congresscritter & sent packing in disgrace.

...and reducing their number of employees to less than 50. It is anti-growth.

Especially since his attorneys argued in front of the SCOTUS that it is a tax. ;-)
Except that Romney is already changing his tune. Several months ago he was saying on his first day in office he would issue waivers to all 50 states. Now he is saying he will begin fixing Obamacare on his first day in office, one provision at a time. What do you suppose that means? Are you really naive enough to believe Romney is going to undo all this?
I hear that. I saw so many battles among family and friends on Facebook yesterday. It's crazy.
Think it through. Extending waivers does nothing to kill the bill and any future POTUS could just as easily reverse the action. Repeal is the only permanent solution left...even if it done piece-meal.
