Popular conservative artist Jon McNaughton has released a new painting, the latest in his controversial series of anti-Obama artwork.
The Empowered Man—which shows President Obama watching in horror as a thirty something white male, standing in front of the White House holds up the U.S. constitution in one hand and a wad of cash in the other—was released this week.
“I wanted this painting to reflect the hope many Americans are having that we can steer our country back on track,” McNaughton emailed BuzzFeed. “I used real models and it took a couple of months to paint.”
The Empowered Man is a follow up to another painting called Wake Up America, which included inflammatory images of President Obama standing in a rain shower of corporate cash while American workers trudged along in chains.

I see he has Bush there with the Democrats, Kennedy kind of hidden in the middle, and Reagan right where he belongs.
Love it. The only thing I don’t like is Obama’s hands raised in a warding off gesture. That’s a little over the top. Otherwise, AWESOME.
I find on McNaughton’s work to be incredible. His site is worth the visit.
IMHO, I think the “warding off” gesture is appropriate. Obama has been the most brazen POTUS who has show contempt towards this country and that gesture is the best indicator.

I think that’s intentional. Your eye goes directly to the threat to our Constitution. While the Democrats behind him may have disputed our Constitution, the Kenyan usurper can’t stand the sight of it.
It appears that the man empowered by the Constitution is the same man who was in shackles scraping for dollar bills in the first painting.
I think he’s saying the bunch on the right don’t really care one way or the other.

There are many things hidden within this mans work. I think he’s quite clever in his approach to tell a story in each piece.

What a wonderful series of paintings telling the story of these last few years. I have hope, I am Everyman, I am Breitbart.
My critique is merely a minor aesthetic one. I’d prefer Obama to just be glowering contemptuously than recoiling in horror like a vampire from a cross. That’s just me. Otherwise, I adore this painting.
