President Obama does not currently have enough white support to win re-election even if he retains his minority base from 2008. At the same time, electoral data indicates Mitt Romney has not yet attracted enough of these white voters to capitalize on Obama's weakness.
Pundits often note that Romney cannot win with his current level of Hispanic support. That's likely true. But so is the converse: Obama cannot win with his level of white support unless white swing voters withhold their votes from Romney as well.
Today, fewer whites back Obama than any Democratic candidate since Walter Mondale. Romney does not need to emulate Ronald Reagan to win. Should he match Reagan’s share of the white vote in 1984 -- presuming all else remains constant since 2008 -- Romney would rout Obama.

Gallup June 12:
"Similarly, whites' support for Obama is six points lower than it was in October/November 2008 (38% vs. 44%), and blacks' is down four points (87% vs. 91%). At the same time, Hispanics' support, at 67%, is essentially unchanged."
Here comes the Racism card.
Solution: neither wins and the country does.

Please note the democrat party would be nothing without minority votes. This is why the fortune of America was taken for minorities, and why the country is being changed demographically into a “minority” country by democrats.
This is political reality meanwhile the white population has meekly accepted this racial manipulation.

Seems to me the article’s claim that neither candidate can win has to be incorrect. If the election were held today one of them would win.
In 2008, Obama got a higher percentage of the white vote than any Democrat presidential candidate had received since LBJ.
But clearly, any white that votes against Obama is a racist. It could not possibly be because he is a socialist Castro/Chavez wannabe.
Seems their guilt trip is over!
I wonder who was the first candidate to win a Presidential election despite getting a smaller number of votes from white voters than his opponent. Maybe Truman in 1948. Probably true of Kennedy in 1960, Carter in 1976, Clinton in 1992 and 1996, and Obama.
Apart from losing the white vote, that Obama has so deservedly lost, the minority voters who sat out last time, not wanting to vote against the first black president, will not sit out this time, not if they want to save their country.
If Obama's support among black voters is below 90%, he cannot win. And since that implies that voter turnout among blacks would be below 90%, the Democrats are facing a bloodbath in the down-ticket races nationwide.
