WASHINGTON -- Republicans are hoping the economy continues to struggle so they can win the White House in November and should put those political concerns aside and take steps to boost job creation, top Obama campaign officials said Sunday.
"They need to get off their hands and stop rooting for failure," Stephanie Cutter, Obama's deputy campaign manager, said on ABC's "This Week with George Stephanopoulos."
Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod accused Republicans of "high-fiving each other" when bad economic news comes out.
"These are the architects of obstruction and now theyre complaining about the pace of the recovery," Axelrod said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "They should put down their political hats and join us and help solve these problems."

One Internet source said that his mother Myril Bennett Axelrod, worked for the left-wing New York newspaper,"PM [that] became notorious because of its penetration by Stalinists and others who promoted the Communist Party line on issues both foreign and domestic [that included] PMs famed Washington correspondent, I.F. Stone, [who] was subsequently identified as a Soviet agent both in the so-called 'Venona' documents and also by a former top KGB official, Oleg Kalugin."
Maybe whatshisname did not have to wear red diapers but he no doubt learned to hate the likes of Senator Joseph McCarthy whom the Venona documents proved a valuable source also to verify the truth of what the Senator was saying. (McCarthy just lacked the charisma of a stack of papers.)
The public now is aware of Pothead Barry's background it's time to publicize all the aged 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radicals (spoiled brats) and their bratty issue.. now arguably "The Establishment."
What else can they say? We effed it up all by ourselves? They did, but that’s beside the case. This administration is all about, nothing but, blame - period. The worst example of the results of blind diversity ever seen in the course of human history.
Not so much “rooting for failure” as helplessly watching the fiscal train wreck that inevitably occurs whenever socialism is forced on an economy.
If “rooting for failure” will get the Kenyan commie out of there in November, I’m rooting.
Our Dear Leader can squawk all he wants but the simple fact is, HE OWNS THIS ECONOMY. He can blame others, obfuscate, bloviate and generally nauseate all he wants, but the bloom is off his rose. There’s panic inside the Democrat camp because they know they’re past the fail-safe point: no matter what happens it’s too late for the economy to turn around before election day. And even if the numbers do pick up somewhat, it takes time for the pendulum of public opinion to swing back in Obama’s favor.
As the great Peter Vincent said to the vampire in the 1985 classic, FRIGHT NIGHT, “You’re out of time Mr. (insert name here).”
What Repubs are “rooting for” doesn’t affect reality, and that reality is that the economy is headed to a showdown with reality. What policies and regulations 0bama et al have put into and are putting into and wish to put into effect comprise that reality. Nobody ever got a job from someone else “rooting for” something. This is yet again another argument where vague hopes and dreams are supposedly affecting reality, while the fact is that some idiot vandal spray painted his name on your garage door and the reality, whether you think the vandal is a really, really cool guy or you think his name should be broadcast to the neighborhood, or you think he is a destructive little s**t, is that whatever work it took you to pay for that garage door and whatever work it will take you to clean or replace it is your problem and is your reality; inflicted by someone else, on purpose.
“This is the Republicans fault? The Donkeys have been running things since 2007 and spending us into oblivion. Its really worked well, dont you think?”
What’s even more amazing is the fact that the election is as close as it is. It’s as though people are unwilling to look at the truth about the economy. My guess is that at the end of the day the polls will be wrong and FUBO will go down to a stunning defeat.
Easy to find and root out failure in Osama Obama campaign.
No matter where you go you will probably step in some. (If you know what I mean!)
I don’t want to hear whose fault it is, I don’t want to hear if they’re happy about it. I want to know what he’s going to do about it. As far as I can tell Obama hasn’t done anything to help us. Does he ever do any actual work? When is he in the office? Fundraising isn’t what he was elected to do, is it?
Yes, Republicans will sabotage the economy in order to prevent Obunghole from sabotaging the economy.
So zer0 is going to play right into their hands and crash the economy.
We don’t have to root for it...we already got it!
Dear President Obama,
Like many independent minded Patriots, we as a group are not only greatly concerned with most (if not all) of your policies, but also with your blatant neglect to hold yourself accountable for your obvious incompetence as president of the United States of America.
When you took office in 2009, you did say (and I quote) that you “will be held accountable” for your actions.
Furthermore, in direct reference to turning around the failing economy and getting the country back on track, you concluded “If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”
You have failed Mr. President. And you have failed miserably.
Not one thing worthwhile has transpired nor been accomplished during your term.
All of us have had to hold ourselves accountable during this depression.
All of us have had to sacrifice and take responsibility for our actions or inability to “make things work”.
All of us have had to answer to our families and our children.
Now its your turn.
Be a man.
Follow through on your own words, hold yourself accountable for your failure, and do not run for a second term.
America will sincerely appreciate it.
Hoping for some real change,
Me & my friends...
I’m not “rooting for failure” but that doesn’t mean
I don’t know failure when I see it.
Easy solution, obo: stop causing the failure, you blithering socialist.
Thanks blam.
