A presidential candidates high-school years have always been packaged as a sepia-toned time of paper routes, patriotism, and premature whiffs of greatness. The classic model is the brief torch-is-passed film clip unveiled at the 1992 Democratic Convention of a 16-year-old Bill Clinton shaking hands with John Kennedy at the White House during a Boys State trip to Washington.
The sometimes-brutal realities of high school have always been far from these gauzy small-town clichés. In truth, you have to be made out of hardier stuff to be a winner in high school rather than a victim.

Typical Yahoo liberal article. They talk about the statute of limitations on dredging something from Romney’s past; and use the article to explain the past incident in detail once again. They are so shallow.
It’s a trap. No talk of Mitt’s youthful years, no talk of Obama’s youthful years either.
Everything on Obama is fair game. We are talking about a guy who has had someone write at least one, and maybe both of his fictional biographies for him. A little truth and exposure is called for.

Exactly. Obama is far more vulnerable than Romney on that score. Maybe that was the real intent of the Romney hit piece by the WP. Now that the WP has made itself look foolish, let’s have a moratorium on all stories about the candidates during their high school and college days. Yeah, right.
