If conservatives aren't unified against Marxism and in getting an outright villainous tyrant out of the WH, I don't hold out much hope for any earthly thing any more.
If Obama gets another four years, we're all going to have to pray for the strength to endure the dark days ahead. And anyone who minimizes what he will do needs to wake up.
I got mocked by someone imagining himself to be more conservative than I am, for stating the very real threat this great Republic is under.
If conservatives sleep through this election, and even hope for an Obama win (some have actually stated that they do, or said it won't be that bad), every liberty we have is threatened, and those of us who are Christian and conservative will be in the most danger.
I never thought I'd be saying that kind of thing, even a few years ago, but after seeing what Obama has done in 3 years, I think I understand the very real peril we are in.

No mea culpa warranted, intended or given. I was simply proposing that the conservative FReepers and grassroots tea party conservatives quit tearing each other apart. When our conservative grassroots organizations are destroyed, the progressives win.
And I stated in the same post that I personally cannot support Mitt Romney for president regardless of who else may endorse him.
But we have a huge fight coming after the elections regardless of who wins. It’s in our best interest as grassroots conservatives to unite behind the conservatives running in all other races across this great land to increase our majorities where we hold them and retake them where we don’t, and to man the barricades against tyrannical government at every level!! The barbarians are in the gate!!

I only see people’s comments about religion when I actually click on and view articles discussion religion. Otherwise I don’t. If I don’t want to see them I don’t.
If somebody’s trying to hijack a thread that is non religious and change the subject, if you’re so moved, call them on it. Maybe others on the thread will agree too.

I've been a life long conservative, but have honed some of my views because of things I've learned here.
If that's going to end because people are in danger of being zotted for expressing those differing, but still conservative views, then this forum can't recover.
I have some hope now that things will settle down and we can begin working together instead of eating our own.
SAM, you have been here a long time, there has been many of a hijacked thread about religion and many post opposing it,it continues on.
Nobody here says religions are not equal in the sense they are allowed to exist and people can pick whatever one they want to join (or leave) freely. Perhaps except the muslims leaving freely.
However they are not all equal in the sense that people will say they all are correct. Not even all other religions will say that. Some may say “multiple paths” but not all will, and not all will clarify which others they say are valid other paths.
No religion is above and protected from scrutiny and criticism. Nor should they be. Christianity, which I am assuming is the one you’re beefing about here, is hardly protected from criticism and ridicule even here. No group here gets a free pass or gets to have sacred cows that can’t be touched. If you think that, you only been selectively browsing the religious forum. Much less other articles that posters bring up Christianity in them.
The difference here is that defending Jesus from “con-man” claims, Christians can easily win that argument. With Joseph Smith, ehhhhh, not so much.

No, I didn’t make that comparison, but, Churchill and Stalin had a common enemy, just like we have a common enemy in the WH right now. Jim, it is my sincere belief that we must defeat him this coming election without fail. There may be nothing left if we don’t.
