Yes. Absolutely.
In my opinion, our chances of winning the fight on another day are better if Romney is elected. If Obama is re-elected, there's an excellent chance that another day will come only after a long dark age.
Is it possible that a brokered Republican Convention could deny Romney the nomination and result in the nomination of Gingrich?
A conservative-enough House, and a Republican controlled Senate would limit the damage that Romney could do.
The focus should now be getting Obama out of the White House, obtaining conservative control of House and Senate, and then start looking at upcoming races in 2013 and 2014.
NJ and VA will have their governor and legislative elections in 2013. In 2014, a third of the Senate, all the House, and thirty-six state governorships will be up for grabs. It's not over yet.
Been saying this for quite some time but I will reiterate:
As a Christian, Romney is not my first choice. But by declaring you wont vote for Romney who may not share your religious or philosophical views, you are voting for more Obolshevik. If that is what you want, say so.
But face up to the political reality: elections have consequences. The key is to elect as many true conservatives to Congress, so that the president can be overridden if he makes bad choices.
If Obambi is returned to office, no more complaints; just look in the mirror for the right person to blame. The fact is that any republican president with a conservative Congress will be a vast improvement over this train-wreck poseur that is currently occupying the White House.
My tag line says it all at this point...
And, while the lesser of two evils is still evil, in the long run, strategery says to do what we can, no matter how feeble at this point, to stave off the unthinkable.
BTTT. I wholeheartedly applaud this post. The conservative movement in this country has merely lost one battle (GOP POTUS '12) in a much larger war for the very survival of this great Country. How each conservative chooses to react to this loss in the voting booth in November does not need to be debated here. That vote, based either on principle or strategy/pragmatism, is equally 'conservative' with the objective of winning in the future.
I believe this virtuous and humble example by you will be a huge positive for the future direction of FR and tea party movement. God bless you Jim.
We much?
I agree with your statement 100% —we must vote ABO if this nation is to get a tea party candidate next time....
Unfortunately we must vote for Romney, because of rule by regulation and by Executive Order.
Lugar and Hatch are legislators, who should always expect primary opposition.
Presidents are another matter.
Are you running for President in 2016?
“It wolud be nice to have four more years to stock up on ammo then...guns are on the to do list for Barry if he wins.”
Yes.
Many knowlegable people believe without question Obama will be reelected and sometime late in his next term will gain control of the Supreme Court.

Obama: Supreme Court at stake in 2012 election
byJoel Gehrke Commentary Staff Writer
President Obama rallied supporters last night by noting that he would likely get to appoint more Supreme Court justices in his second-term, which could have very long-term significance.
“There are going to be some Supreme Court appointments probably if you look actuarially for the next president,” Obama said at a fundraiser with former President Clinton. “There’s so much at stake here.”
He used the court appointments as a way to drive home the historic significance of the 2012 presidential election: “this one matters,” he repeated.
Three current justices — Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (79 years old), Justice Steven Breyer (73 years old), and Justice Anthony Kennedy (75 years old) — are regarded as potentially near retirement.
If Obama wins reelection and those three judges retire by 2016, he’d have the opportunity to appoint a five-justice majority during his two terms (including Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan).
The powers that be have so dumbed down our society and been successful at keeping the masses ignorant, one does not have to be Machiavellian.
People in my own local republican party (many of whom I would consider good people) are just woefully ignorant of history and the plan of the leftists. They really do not see evil for what it is.
Don't think of it as a vote "for" Romney; think of it as a vote that cancels out one vote for Obama.
JimRob's advice about downticket voting is absolutely right.
My only concern is that, even if we were to stack the House and Senate with Tea Party conservatives, given the way Obama prefers to govern illegally, through executive orders and administrative and executive departments which write the regulations that are ensnaring us, without recourse to Congress it may not be enough to stop him from destroying the Republic.
This criminal conspiracy MUST be removed from the Oval Office. This is the most corrupt executive I have ever seen in my life, and perhaps in all American history. I worry the Republic cannot survive four more years of it.
My two-cents' worth, FWIW.
Good thought, but two points. First, the GOPe is unlikely to grow a pair and will sound a lot tougher than they will be, and second and most importantly: Obama is moving heaven and earth to marginalize Congress. He has established some sources of funds no longer subject to Congress (like the funding for the Consumer Financial Protection Agency), money paid back from bailouts, and the Fed purchases of debt; and he is ruling by regulation and decree and a super-majority in Congress would be required to even try and stop him. An Obama win in 2012 will end our present form of government de facto if not de jure. Look to Venezuela on how this can play out.
As always, well said my friend. I'll be here fighting to get our party back.

I can’t, I resided in Japan from 2000-2005.

Great message today, but if only we’d could have put the above attitude into practice six months ago . . . :sigh:
At any rate, Jim, would it be possible to ask Freepers from every state to round up a compilation of down ticket conservatives as a voting guide. That would be awesome and helpful.
