Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum says he expects to endorse Mitt Romney.
Santorum says that he believes Romney is the right guy to challenge President Barack Obama. Still, hes stopping short of an official endorsement of his former rival.
But Santorum tells CNN that he will ultimately support the GOP presidential nominee. And he says its clear that Romney will be that nominee.
Santorum says he plans to meet with some of Romneys staff on Wednesday. And he hopes to meet with Romney personally in the next week or two.
Santorum once accused Romney of being the worst Republican to face Obama. He consistently questioned Romneys conservative credentials.
But he now says the priority is to defeat Obama in November.
I disagree with you about Newt. I believe Newt would have been a great president. I am very disappointed that there will be no President Gingrich.
I also believe that Perry would have been a great president (though I don’t believe he ever had a path to the presidency, given the demands of modern media). I am very sad that there can never be a President Perry.
If the “true believers” vote third party or don’t vote for the president at all, you will personally be responsible for more oppression by the Black Panthers, more oppressive rules by the EPA, more ridiculous rules by the NLRB, more Kagan like Supreme Court judges, and more treasonous acts like giving information to Russia - “wait until after I am elected again and I will have more flexibility”. In addition, it will be the end of our constitutional form of government.
You will not only be biting off your nose to spite your face, you will be eating your whole head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But my point is there were enough votes to nominate a conservative, if we had coalesced early and all stuck together.
No Romney. No how. See tag.
No sale, I’ve heard enough from the GOP-e scaremongers, I’m not buying their swill anymore.
I too hold my nose and vote GOP. We have had weak candidates before, Dole & McPain, but one votes against the Democrat when presented with reality.
Forming a conservative party is hard as we conservatives are like herding cats, we march to our own tune, just like the Libertarians. We will do better at infiltrating the GOP at the local levels and create a strong base, state by state, and then capture the national GOP. Go to your local county and state GOP, become a member and work to get officers that think conservative as you do. Plus, unlock those wallets and give to GOP candidates at local and state levels who are conservatives and will stay conservative once elected. I’m as frustrated as most on FR, but we must think long, think of our children’s futures and believe in America.
Of course, conservatives have been sold out again. Completely expected, of course.
I went from hoping for Palin to Cain, Bachmann and finally Santorum in this race. I’m off the Grand Old Plantation.
Ron Paul is a kook and his hard core supporters are more like cultists than anything else. I give them credit for trying to start a movement, but the delegate nonsense they are trying to pull is just irritating not serious. Paul will not have enough delegates at the convention to even matter (no one will be paying attention to the paulbots). The odds of some brokered/contested convention were always slim to none, now they are just none (and have been for weeks or months).
I wonder if the Obama administration is secretly dusting the population with LSD
LOL, most paulbots are drug addled college mushheads anyway.

Conservatives give to individual PAC’s first for specific patriots before the GOP-e but I agree with your thinking.
True, but then, that’s always true. You’re never going to find a candidate who exactly mirrors your own views on what a conservative politico should be (unless you stand for election yourself).
Meh, we go through this pretty much every 4 years. By the Fall most everyone will have found a reason that defeating Hussein is just too important not to vote for the only candidate that can beat him. Some will feel that they can't hold their nose and cast that vote, but they will likely be replaced by the folks who felt that way last time, see the destruction Obama has caused our nation, and regret their decision.
He is no longer running and they still have to twist his statements to make him look bad.
All of these guys knew from day one who the nominee would be. The bottom line is there are way more Rockefeller republicans than there are Goldwater/Reagan republicans. And they decided on Nixon, both Bushes, Dole, mcCain and now Romney.
We appear to be running against two leftists. That might make a difference, though I expect it will not.
Yep, that's my plan exactly.
“No sale, Ive heard enough from the GOP-e scaremongers, Im not buying their swill anymore.”
Ditto, Gator - I’m fed up with that crappy line of reasoning.
..instead of blindly running with what cbs or whoever....says....
..You would not have heard him endorse Romney.....
..and you would have heard him try 6 ways to sundown not fall into Morgan's trap of saying he would endorse Romney.
But hey.....why accept the facts and truth when you all can invent something more to your liking.
