So many constitutions worldwide -- and how many except ours recognize the right to keep and bear arms?
America is in danger "of becoming something of a legal backwater," a justice of the High Court of Australia, Michael Kirby, is quoted as telling the New York Times. His comment is in a scoop that ran under the headline "?'We the People' Loses Appeal With People Around the World." The story follows up on an interview Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg gave to Al-Hayat TV in Egypt. In the interview she said that were she drafting a constitution in the year 2012, "I would not look to the United States Constitution." Instead she commended to her viewers the constitution of South Africa, the European Convention on Human Rights, and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms of Canada.

At the same time there are some really hard-a**ed traditional dictatorships where the difference between someone who is armed and someone who isn't is simply the price of an RPG and a few rounds suitable to that weapon. There the traditional culture equates freedom to weaponry.

South Africa’s constitution has resulted in an exceedingly high murder rate ~ I have a sneaking suspicion that’s exactly what attracted Ginzburg!
The more I see of mainstream legal process the better the backwater looks. Self-important, high and mighty “jurists” despise the second amendment because it introduces the ultimate form of jury nullification on government. That’s why I like it.

Meanwhile, the rest-of-world can be the gigantic Yellow River of muddy, diseased, sewage-filled “mainstream” ideology. Yuck.

U.S. citizens, with the recent exception of those who have offended the IRS, are free to leave. Many liberals, for example, have threatened to leave and the rest of us have applauded their dedication to their principles. (Unfortunately, many have them have chosen not to leave.)
Constitutions full of "rights" which require the government to provide entitlements and which correspondingly must deprive others of their wealth in order to fund those entitlements, are institutions of slavery.
