Having had some extensive personal experience with the CP it is very hard for me to believe that he could have won their nomination if he doesn’t share most of Ron Paul’s foreign policy views.

When Alan Keyes was invited to entertain their nomination four years ago the first question they asked was whether he would agree to pull our country’s support for Israel. Of course, he said no. After that it was all downhill for him in the CP.

Plus, a rather shaky position on illegals; first he says they should be departed, then wants a "humane," non-deportation policy.
Newt is the best one left standing of the three remaining in the GOP, but you and I both know only a miracle will prevent Romney from getting the nomination, so the best Newt can realistically hope for is an offer for a VP slot. Somehow, I doubt he'll take it.
And, let's dispense with the simplistic "Vote for Newt or you hate America" routine. I'll rise above your allegations of "weakness," but will tell you this: I voted for Bush I and II, Bob Dole and John McCain, all because the alternative was far worse, and what has the GOP to show for it, but an establishment disdain for all things Tea Party? With Romney atop the GOP heap, those lines are blurred. And he's going to be crushed by Obama in November.
If somehow Newt were able to pull it off (which he won't), I'd certainly look to him. I will NOT cast a vote for Romney.
