A Miami-Dade firefighters rant about the Trayvon Martin case posted on his personal Facebook page is drawing scrutiny from his bosses.
Capt. Brian Beckmanns post, published for the public Friday by the website theGrio.com, lambasts the prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case and suggests urban youth are the products of failed, sh*tbag, ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents.

Conservatives should flee FaceBook as though it were the Devil. It should have a disclaimer every time you post : “Anything you post here will be used against you in a court of law”.
When are these people ever going to wake up to the fact that Facebook is a turncoat site that is monitored by gov’t , both Federal, State and Local and now, by many corporations? There isn’t any “privacy” on Facebook. Sheeesh!
People who post anything remotely controversial on Facebook are STUPID.
Is that what we want?
This type of activity described in the Miami Herald smacks of a beginning.
...or the Court of Public Opinion...........1984's Thought Police are here.........Orwell was a prophet..........
People who post anything anti left/progressive you mean.
The left are true fascists. This man’s personal opinion on his off time is not his bosses concern.
What happened to free speech? Remember the radicals on campuses in the 1960s?
Is there some element of truth in the rant? Maybe that is the problem in today's repressive environment.
Conservatives who work in government jobs (Fed, State, local, military) should be very careful what they post on Facebook. It is NOT a forum like FR; you are NOT anonymous. It should be entertainment only; posting anti-Government sentiments can be a detriment to your career.
The same thing is true for posting about your employer. If your not saying how much you love them and how great their products and services are, DON’T post it on Facebook. Go somewhere where you are anonymous.
Are firefighters under some subjective moral code 24 hours a day?
These hustlers are doing whatever they can to prop up their little industry.
OTOH, this kind of case must have our support. This is Thoughtcrime, pure and simple.
I see.
The Fire Chief had a “rant”, you know, a “tantrum”, requiring an “investigation”.
But Loui$ Farrakhan, Al $harptongue, and Je$$e Jack$on can stoke up racial hatred, and the Black Pampers can even issue “Wanted Dead or Alive” posters without so much as a raised eyebrow from the goons who are going to “investigate” the Fire Chief.
The hypocrisy is beyond blatant, beyond palpable, and is encroaching on the delusional.
Just another salvo against our First Amendment rights.
It all started with “sensitivity” and political correctness.
Facebook use is inversely proportional to IQ.
However, I cannot see a single thing he supposedly said that was incorrect.
Sooner or later, we’re going to have to start seeing and saying the truth.
The investigation and racially-charged entry on the private Facebook page is an example of how employers both private and public struggle to balance free speech and conduct that may reflect poorly on an employee. How is criticizing bad parenting and the welfare society "racially-charged"???
He said nothing about race.
The Miami-Herald is reading race into it. (Surprise! Surprise!)
yes be careful the words you choose on facebook. Are you serious? Are you really on a conservative website that is basically saying this man pretty much had it coming for voicing a politically incorrect opinion on his personal time?
Thought and speech police!
>>>Anything you post here will be used against you in a court of law.
You should treat anything you post anywhere in electronic format subject to having to explain it before a jury.
And the truth shall set you free...from your job!
Orwell, Huxley, Clarke and Rand have told us what to expect..............
