The anus-GlobalWarmer has the right idea about the human diet, which should be about 75-80% complex Carbohydrates,(vegetables, fruit) 12-15% proteins, with a lot of those from vegetable sources (beans, lentils, etc) if possible, and the rest good fats like olive oil, butter, cheese, nuts etc. Steak? Sure. Great for you once every couple of weeks. Fish. Poultry. Wild game ... even better!

I’m actually considering raising Scottish Highland steer, probably two at a time. I found a place that does slaughtering and will even pick them up for me. $65 per head plus the packaging cost per pound (around 60 cents or so). I already have livestock guardian dogs. I figure I’ll have my own beef supply within a couple years. If anyone here is knowledgable about such things I’d love to talk to you.
