Newt is the REAL deal!
Santorum was just a pretender, clearing the way for Mitten's since day one, and he succeeded in fooling enough people to split the conservative vote.
It's a shame that some people are so gullible.
Yep, those big meanies. As opposed to the gentle and kind Santorum supporters.
Assachussets

Well described, with all due respect to an FR friends living there.
I will glad back up zotting any posters that preach the story vote Romney or else. A vote for anyone else is a vote for Obama.
Any poster with that agenda in mind should consider that.
there is no “or else” Its United we stand, divided we fall.
We unite AGAINST Romney and Obama, everything else is just slapping the Easy button.
I can think of several rational (albeit pragmatically self interested) reasons.
Because they don't think he can win the big delegate states. Putting anti-Romney sentiments aside, I think it's pretty crummy what Newt did. Over the weekend he all but declared Romney the candidate. It's like he waited for Santorum to drop out so he could get back in the game.
And what happens if Romney does win the nomination, in spite of all our best efforts, and in defiance of all that is logical? You have to concede it is very possible that he will.
I don’t believe his nomination has been written in stone or is being sung by a burning bush, any signs of that is just the results of propaganda and fear, fear is the easy way out.
Like the cartoon about a pair of spawning salmon that face a challenging climb up a fish ladder, instead they decide to stop and just stay in the calm shallow water and masturbate.
Voting for Romney is the same thing.
“Why are so many people reluctant to endorse Newt? I dont understand.”
My guess is that the GOPe have threatened anyone in the GOP that doesn’t step in line now. Romney’s people are nasty, as they and the GOPe took down Sarah during the 08 campaign in a filthy batch of lies, like the clothes in the belly of the plane antics. The insiders HATE Newt as he knows how to work the congress, knows the rules and how to use them. He was ousted from Congress by our very own GOP. Imagine that!
This is out and out war, folks - pay attention here. Newt has very little chance but he’s the only one left. Is it too late for anyone else to jump in here? Anyone else know? Romney is a wet noodle, worse that McLaim. Sarah was muzzled but not any more. She has a gas price program on Friday night(?). Let’s see what happens. Stay alert, do your part.
If Obama wins, we have a Supreme Court of Marxist Wise Latinas and perhaps a dictatorship in the making.
Romney was pushed because the GOP knew that we would vote for a cement block before we voted for Obama. People can say they won’t vote for the Ken doll, but That would be the ruin of the USA.
Politicians are getting intense financial pressure from the Romney gang to endorse him. That is no reason why the voters should follow suit.

Exactly. It is EVERY reason WHY we should support Newt, and get our collective heads out of our collective BUTTS.
Santorum? Come on. He dropped out to preserve his own political future. Understandable, but he is part of the larger problem of politicians who do what is best for themselves, and not the good of the country.
Newt, I do believe, is staying in, not for himself — it’s going to hurt HIM to stay in — he’s doing it FOR the good of the country, and the Republican platform.
People really need to meditate on that, and the whole Romney/money/pressure issue.

Newt’s struggle DOES remind me of those patriots, crossing the Delaware, in the dead of winter. No shoes even for their feet. Can you imagine marching in the snow with no shoes?
THAT was how pathetic and sad it was for Americans fighting the almighty British. But somehow, we won. A tiny rag tag Army of patriots.
Is it really any different now? Did they win with big money? No — they won on principle and a belief in themselves.
Americans have lost this — they think it’s all about the money. It really isn’t.
Have FAITH. Don’t give in ...don’t be a masturbating FISH!! (lol — had to laugh at that post).
I’m not so sure Newt’s comments about Romney were counter-productive.
In response, Romney stated he has been speaking with Gingrich (not saying the same about Santorum).
This may have caused Santorum to suddenly realize there was no chance whatsoever, Romney if he wins the nomination, would decide on Santorum as running mate.
Which seems to have been part of what Santorum was trying for.
Result: Now it’s “game on” mano-a-mano.
Gingrich is clearly the underdog now, but at least it’s clear now who to support. Finally we can stop fighting each other.
Santorum needs to join with Newt. Clearly. Publicly. Now.
If Newt is still on the ballot, I guess I’ll be voting for him in May. I guess I can always count on Paul being on the ballot as an alternative to RINOmney, for what that’s worth.
That's a significant speculation on your part, and not a smart way to woo Santorum voters to Newt.
That being said, I'll vote for Newt in the PA primary because he is the closest to my beliefs, and unless Newt goes the distance to the convention, the November election is going to suck.
Personally, I think Rmoney winning is a terribly bad thing. Right now, the US is a pressure cooker with all the valves blocked, and something has to give. Putting Rmoney will just lower the pressure.
We are at a terrible impasse, with two groups that are diametrically opposed to each other: those that want to take, and those that don't want to be taken. There is no compromise between these two positions. The left realizes to accomplish their goals, they need fundamental change revolution. When are we going to realize that to get to our goals, we need the same?
Many think that if 0 wins, that is the end. But if Rmoney wins, then we are stuck with him for 8 years. We will continue the slow slide to European socialism/communism. Enough. I would rather have the current jerk screw up the system and crack the pressure cooker than be slow-cooked for another 4 to 8 years.
The question remains. If he does get the nomination (and its a definite possibility) what do we do then?
But then again, perhaps not. BO is making a complete hash of affairs, but it wont be immediately and disatrously obvious for some time. He might be able to hold it together for the election - well hes going to have to if he is to have any chance of winning. Now, if Romney wins the nomination, and then manages to beat the big O in November, he might just be in time to pick up the tab for the Democrats mismanagement, thus tarring himself and the republicans for a generation, and certainly for 2016. In other words, this might be a 'good' election to lose, if you follow my reasoning...
And a very large army of Frenchmen. Can't count on external help with this one.
