Foster Friess, the retired investor who spent nearly $1.7 million boosting Rick Santorum’s presidential run, is ready to help Mitt Romney.

“I’m obviously going to be of help in whatever way I can,” Friess told POLITICO Tuesday afternoon, hours after Santorum suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination, cementing Romney’s status as the party’s presumptive nominee. Friess, who was in Washington to accept an award from the Horatio Alger Association, said he had yet to discuss his planned shift in allegiance with Romney’s campaign campaign or the Washington-based super PAC supporting it.

Well...this should help Gingrich, especially as his $500 check to get on the ballot in Utah bounced.

That was fast. Santorum must have consulted him in advance. I suspect Santorum will eventually endorse Romney. This isn’t good for Newt.

I am sure you are right behind Friess on endorsing Romney just like most Santos supporters. All so principled too.

P.T. Barnum was right.

All of the morons who couldn’t see that Santorum was being financed by Friess to pave the way for the coward from Kolob are probably still in denial.

Bottom line

THE GOP MUST DIE

So what. Newt was talking all about supporting Milt on the Sunday shows this weekend. Herman Cain came out and said he will support Milt today. There is no one left to challenge Milt running anymore. That is how these thing end up. Everyone going to the last man standing.

Figures. Most of these deep pocket GOP types aren’t really interested in putting a no-nonsense, reformist, conservative in the White House anyway.

I think his money went to the candidate he knew he could buy.

I am not one bit surprised.

Romney will still lose the election.

I suspect that a good many Saintorum supporters will now get behind Romney, but I also suspect that the principled folks will not.

Fox just said there is going to be a one- on- one meeting with Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.

I look for Rick to endorse Romney to get his debts settled.

I think most Santorum supporters would be fine with Romney, because essentially they were just big-government “conservatives” who were conservative only on the so-called social issues. Now that Santorum isn’t there to offer them the RINO with a socon glaze, they’ll just vote their hearts (big-government) and hope that Romney will consult the backers on his planet and at least pretend to support some socon positions through the election.

Frankly, I don’t even think he’ll bother. He knows he has them. Look for Romney to shed any pretense of conservatism and go for the “independents” (that is, Dems who simply don’t like Obama).

"Who’s next, Mr. Adelson, Newt’s previous backer?"

That happened in February.

All of this has been scripted to the minute...
