Santorum Suggests Obama Preferable to "Etch-A-Sketch" Romney.

Rick Santorum's latest attempt to use a Mitt Romney aide's "Etch-A-Sketch" remark against the Republican front-runner instead gave his rival a chance to fire back on Thursday, after Santorum seemed to say he'd rather see President Obama reelected than send Romney to the White House.

Speaking at an event in Texas, Santorum again made the case that Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom's comments Wednesday on CNN about a "reset" of the campaign if Romney clinched the nomination showed the former Massachusetts governor's efforts to appeal to conservatives were insincere.

"You win by giving people the opportunity to see a different vision for our country, not someone who's just going to be a little different than the person in there," Santorum told a crowd in San Antonio, according to NBC News. "If you're going to be a little different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk with what may be the Etch-A-Sketch candidate of the future."

I agree with Rick. If Romney’s the nominee, the Republican party is finished as a vehicle for conservatism. I will officially be an independent because I will not vote for a liberal. I don’t care what letter he has after his name.

The only arguments you seem to make for Santorum, at least to me, and to some others I have noted, are to call names, make insinuations, and be downright nasty. Do you think that helps your candidate? Do you really think you are that much better than everyone else, that you can’t engage them on the issues or their opinions when they disagree with you? There is a reason Santorum won’t get the nomination.

”He is SO much smarter than everyone else he will make it happen.”

He believes that......that is a problem.

No, it's abundantly apparent that Newt is smarter, that is the problem for you and other Anti-Newt people.

i don't know who the poster was for the original quote you commented on, I hope they're in the list...

Really? I beg to differ. I dare anyone to look at my posting history and say I post downright nasty things. You picked the wrong FReeper to accuse of that, true believer forever. I explained myself in my last post to you. I don't think I've made too many arguments for Santorum. I generally post comments when people are bashing santorum or another poster who likes Santorum.

Yes,

In fact Newt just is TOO smart for this planet. Maybe he can run for POTUS of the Moon and the ‘private sector’ will drop him off there on their way to Mars.

yep noot greegrinch, *super genius* was duped by the 'manmade globull warming' academia, when a 10 minute investigation of the facts show that trained scientists cant predict tomorrows temps...one of the local weather guys has a "3 degree gurantee" for his forcast, and everywhere ive lived, the record temps, HI and LOW are usually still held from the 1900-30s...so please tell me how anybody but a moron would believe that 50-100 yrs out, there could be *science* to indicate a 1/2 degree avg temp diff ???

more like, noot greengrinch, former politically savy guy, who chose to use PR, insider knowledge and connections to pimp himself some cash and, simultaneously a shot at more power, win lose or draw, playin both sides of the aisle ???

maybe SP will tell you to vote for bambam next time...???

I’m ready to run for POTUS myself.

Slash taxes.

Killthe NEA.

Kill the EPA

Kill the Obamacare

Kill the Dept of Ed

Give illegals 12 months to leave, or 5 years in jail.

Y’all could do a lot worse!

I won’t vote for Romney. I will stay home like I stayed home when all the other eastern liberals were crammed down our throats with party rules that let someone like romney that 70% of the party hates and we are supposed to vote for etch a sketch? I promise you I will turn him off at every inkling of his appearance. This guy is no republican conservative!! He is a phony and a fraud. Me a millions of others. We will punish this party again!!!

Ok.

See you in four years when we are both working for minimum wage for the EPA.

You can explain what a great decision you’ve made as we both make “green” road tiles in the small sweatshop for our Marxist masters to walk on.

Boy you will really show them Republicans who’s boss though!

You democrats/liberals are pathetic. Your attempt to hijack this site is pathetic.

You want to be able to campaign for Obama and so to put down anyone that won't vote for your Obama.

I don't believe nor listen to anything you liberals say.Leave me alone. I hate liberals. You have no effect and make no difference .Go stalk others. Although I hope you all get banned if you keep harassing others .

2) Daily NEA leftist act

3) Gutless, spineless Republican of the Day (RINO)

I agree, I don’t like Romney’s policies you stated. At least he would not be bowing to communists and trying to protect the muslim brotherhood.

Rick Santorum wrote the conservative Senate version of the welfare reform law in 1995. He’s been out front on entitlement reform and supported every tax cut proposal and was always against Co2 cap-and-trade, opposed TARP, etc. Strong on immigration, and yes a so-con - so whats unconservative about being prolife profamily protaxcuts pro-less-regulation and for jobs?
It’s silly to define conservative so narrowly it excludes most conservative Republicans in office.
