Burlington (VT) Free Press doesn't allow linking to its stories, but if you go to their front page on their site it says Univ. of Vermont faculty members want to "cut ties" between the university and WVMT, an AM radio station that runs Rush Limbaugh. They don't want UVM sports on the station.
WVMT's owner and GM is quoted as saying Rush is a program they carry, "the most listened to talk show in the nation" but that Rush is not necessarily the voice of the station...which pays UVM for the right to carry the games. So UVM is doing a Rush-not-in-my-name deal.
I bet they have no problem with foul mouthed FM talkers though
this is so orchestrated it is nauseating!!! GO RUSH!

Universities and colleges are overrated. I know a lot of people who were a lot smarter BEFORE they went to college.
I’m sure there’s orchestration. I think there is even more “Me to, look how liberally pure I am” one-upsmanship going on. Most of these places wouldn’t hit the radar of the DNC otherwise, but if they copycat them, they think they will get some fame and look like they are big league players too.

Where is Air America or its equivalent in Burlington? Nowhere. It flopped, in liberal BURLINGTON (had been on 1390, 1070, etc.) though they do have Vermont Public Radio of course. The marketplace succeeded. WVMT’s signal reaches into both the VT and NY sides of the Champlain Valley and up into Montreal (where liberal caller “Steve from Montreal”
hears it and calls into Howie’s show)

The hallmark of every politically motivated lib I ever met was an unflinching desire to first and foremost, twist any occurrence, event etc. to their advantage - even things that had nothing to do with the immediate issue. In short, “How can I make X benefit “ME” or what “I” want?
Not once does truth, honesty or morality enter the picture. Standard Democrat/Liberal theology. Same poop, different pooper.

Same here. But watch what happens if the station does. The libs will then go to the FCC and complain that the station is not serving the community and demand their broadcast license be pulled.
Would not be the first time libs went that route.

agreed...or hey, let the station keep Rush and let some weaker station pick up the sports.
And yes, they “want” to cut ties but haven’t but this is just showing the “tolerance” found on the left and in universities.
Yeah, they could move to the other station in Vermont. Oh yeah, as soon as they get another station in Vermont.
