Gingrich campaign says gas plan has gotten 'in the president's head'

Newt Gingrich's campaign is blasting the White House over what they are characterizing as "attacks" on the former Speaker - and his energy plan - during the daily White House press briefing.

Press Secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday that he was wrong to have ascribed "motivations" when saying Gingrich was "lying" about his energy policy lowering gas prices to $2.50 per gallon.

"I shouldn't have gone to motivations," Carney said. "I should have said that anybody who said that doesn't know what he's talking about."

......."What [President Obama] is not willing to do is to look the American people in the eye and claim that there is a strategy by which he can guarantee the price of gas will be $2.50 at the pump," Carney said yesterday. "Any politician who does that is lying."

Gingrich spokesman Joe DeSantis said Carney's pivot was evidence the Speaker was "in the president's head."......

He’s right. I noticed Romney also can’t shut up about gas prices.
Newt is driving the discussion right now.

We have plenty of energy. Man made problem caused by stupid leaders and activists.

BHO reminds me of Jimmy Carter telling Americans to lower their furnace and wear a sweater.

If we start drilling increasing supply slightly 20% or so, oil market will drop from $100 to $50/barrel. International consumption is low right now due to world-wide recession, there is no reason for gas price going up.

All the candidates are on the “Me, Too” wagon now that Newt’s message on Energy Independence is resonating.

The U.S.A. for the first time in many, many years...is a net exporter of fuel. Diesel, gasoline, jet-fuel.

IOW, we aren't using as much....and producers are shipping elsewhere.

The Economy will never improve unless gas prices improve.

Newt is driving the discussion - but getting no credit for it publicly. Obama obviously knows who is his arch-enemy, but the press only reports it when Romney or Santorum pick up on Gingrich’s points.

If Gingrich could copyright his remarks, he should be suing them both, because they wait until they see what he has said and then they grab onto it if it looks like a winner.

More than OBVIOUS who the true leader is in ALL of this — the only one wise enough to really zero in on the right issues over Romney, and definitely over Obama.

It’s Newt.

But our media, our corporations, our Elitist establishment, isn’t having any of THAT.

And the sheeple aren’t listening ... at least not yet.

Praying for these results tonight.

I think Newt's done.
When that guy at work said, “ I don't understand anything Newt says!”. I now realize that was a foreshadowing of today's electorate. (Why should I be surprised, a generalized version elected Zero!)
So I am back to voting against someone or something rather then for. I've done that before and I will do it again but not gladly. (Again why should I be surprised!)

I don't like to use the word "never". Just a personal thing...

Gas prices have been high before...with the economy humming right along.

FWIW-

This should tell you everything you need to know about this election cycle. There are only two people that Obama sees worthy of responding to, one isn’t even running for office and the other is Newt Gingrich. While the other candidates are bashing each other in the heads with all sorts of attack ads Newt is pushing the right buttons at the White House enough so that Obama is forced into responding.

Doesn’t that say something about the candidates to you? It does to me.

GO NEWT GO!!

Not unlike a certain pResident (wrongly) predicting what the unemployment rate would drop to once his economic package was passed.
