I used the occasion to ask Brown about the death penalty in California. Brown, a former Attorney General, said that there are no innocent inmates on California

I had to Check My JerryBrownFactCheck on his death penalty stance. He did support Chief Justice Rose Bird. She was a very liberal judge and she voted against imposing the death penalty in all 64 cases before the court.

Your first four words were precisely what I was thinking when I read the headline.

Governor Moonbeam said THAT? Wonders never cease.

Sure, the guy who appointed Rose Elizabeth Bird knows exactly what he just did: He just gave every lawyer defending those death row inmates cause for claiming that their cases are now prejudiced.

Considering the Number of Animals on California’s Death Row they’re very slow reducing the numbers.

I guess they just love the animals.

My take on this above.

It's evil.

Why would Saunders have asked the question — she ought to know better its import.

Brown appointed Bird, and we the voters of California voted Bird and two other justices (Reynoso and Grodin) off the Court in 1986 by a margin of two to one. She is the only Chief Justice in the history of the State to fail to be “reconfirmed.” With all three, it was about their abominable rulings with respect to the DP.

She was a complete disaster.I believe that Bird,Reynoso and Grodin were recalled and ousted by voters under California’s judicial-retention election system

From the first few posts above, one wonders if FReepers are a bit credulous as well. I guess they just don't know our Moonbeam; he's the same ideological thug he always was. :-(

Yeah, and Brown saw what happened to Bird! He’s nothing if not a ‘quick lesson.’

Saunders opened that door — and the meeting with Moonbeam wasn’t even about that issue. She just asked it on the side.

I have never been impressed with Debra Saunders. There's a reason she remains the Chronicle's token conservative.
