Palin on Newt: ‘I’m glad he’s staying in it’ (Sarah to Rick: "Oh, Boo-hoo!")

Sarah Palin gave another not-quite-endorsement of Newt Gingrich this evening, praising his decision to stay in the primary even though he's only won his home state of Georgia today.

"I'm glad he's staying in it," Palin said of Gingrich on Fox News this evening. Asked about Rick Santorum's contention that Gingrich is dividing the conservative, anti-Romney vote, Palin dismissed the complaint. "Oh, boo-hoo," she said.

Of course they all want one another to drop out, but I don't support that idea." "At this point, it doesn't make any sense for anyone to drop out and concede that he can't be the nominee," she also said, before reiterating her position that competition is good for the Republican primary.

Newt has a great knock out punch- but Gov. Palin has the best political jab I've ever seen. -:)

In terms of candidates who can control the terms of debate, can shape the the discussion, has the mental dexterity to dismantle the press only Newt matters.

He's the candidate of big ideas and reform.

He actually beat Rick in delegates.

I think Rick should withdraw immediately for the good of the party.

Sarah tells it like she sees it. I am glad that she came out and said that she voted for Newt. I have nothing against Santorum, I think he is a really good guy but Newt would destroy Obama in a debate, he would rip him to shreds

Geron- didn’t you heard him tonight? He is so angry at the GOP-e, he can spit nails. He feels that he helped build the GOP, and the ingrates have been trying to “eviscerate” him from Day One.

I agree with him- you may not. But, the point is- he’s not going anywhere. He’s going to stay in their faces as long as he can go.

Absent Gingrich, Santorum would beat Romney one-on-one. Absent Santorum, Gingrich would beat Romney one-on-one. Together, they’re giving him the nomination.

lol.

Mr. Third Place is the big winner huh?

You gotta win more than your home state to be the nominee.

There is only one that has a chance at beating Obama, and it won’t be easy.

“Lets cut spending and the size of government by putting school kids to work in a federal program and building a new base!! We’ll make the Sea of Tranquility an enterprise zone and send Solyndra up there”

Yeah, that’s what America wants to hear. lol.

He has. Rick has blown two big leads in important states now (Michigan, Ohio). He’s practically handing Romney the nomination.

Get out now Rick!

Rick won’t withdraw. He is so pumped up that he will explode and then and only then it might dawn on him he has been dumped.

Your headline is misleading at best. She didn't say "Oh boo-hoo" to Santorum. She said it to the interviewer.

That said, I think Newt is on his way out. He may stay in with Mississippi and Alabama up next week, but after he loses there, he's out, IMO.
