U.S., Britain urge Israel not to attack Iran

The U.S. and Britain on Sunday urged Israel not to attack Iran's nuclear program as the White House's national security adviser arrived in the region, reflecting growing international jitters that the Israelis are poised to strike.

In their warnings, both the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Minister William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Iran more time to work. Dempsey said an Israeli attack is "not prudent," and Hague said it would not be "a wise thing."

“The U.S. should be helping the Israelis deter Iran’s further nuclear advance by helping them to scare the Iranians into thinking that an attack is coming. Instead, the Obama administration is doing everything possible to telegraph to Iran that we’re terrified of a conflict and are doing everything to prevent it. That’s exactly the same as inviting the Iranians to continue their pursuit of nuclear weapons. If there is an explanation for this, other than incompetence, I would love to know it.”

Israel to US & UK: “So, which one of you two will man up and take care of the problem?”

One cannot help but feel that Obama has decided it would
be better for Israel to be decimated rather than see
a wider war in the middle east. After all, Iran says
their research is for peaceful purposes. /s

I don't believe that for a second. Obama, especially, would love to see the Iranian "problem" gone and if the Israelis got themselves wiped off the map as a consequence, it would only be a fringe benefit in his view.

From your linked article:

“The only thing that is going to stop the Iranians is the fear of a military attack. The U.S. should be helping the Israelis deter Iran’s further nuclear advance by helping them to scare the Iranians into thinking that an attack is coming. “

Better yet, put the fear of targeted assassinations into the heads of Iran’s current leadership. Offer them front of the line tickets to a fire sale of 72 virgins in “paradise”.

The explanation is quite simple. It's the same reason that the Obama regime supported every instance of the so-called "arab spring" revolutions EXCEPT one... When there was tremendous unrest in Iran, the US (and behind us, the rest of the Western World) the US SHOULD HAVE supported regime change in Iran. With the exception of the mullahs who run the government and the secret police who control Iran with an iron fist, Iran is a mostly secular, well educated, NON-ARAB country. But Obama knew that by leaving the mullahs in place, there will be plenty of state support for terrorism in the rest of the middle east. He also sees Iran's current leadership as the best hope for a sheite, anti-American caliphate in the middle east, which will also help rid the world of Israel, and in his dearest dreams, rid the world of Jews and Christians too.

Wouldn’t be prudent? I thought old man Bush was retired.

England is sucking up since Iran cut off their oil sales. If any of the free world had any balls they’d all be taking the damned oil.

As if Israel will listen to the perfidious UK, to decide what’s the best for its security.

Generally speaking, many Israelis hate Great Britain, who put them in concentration camps, after they escaped from nazi death camps in 1945 ...

I wonder if we moved Gen. Dempsey and Minister Hague and all of their loved ones to Israel on a permanent basis if they would still feel it wasn’t prudent.

"In their warnings," a moment of spontaneous, compulsive honesty, "both the U.S. joint chiefs of staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, and British Foreign Minister William Hague said an Israeli attack on Iran would have grave consequences for" prices of freight fuel for foreign communist imports to the USA and UK "the entire region and urged Israel to give international sanctions against Iran more time to work." wait until Iran launches nukes.

The Israelis did the entire world an enormous favor by ignoring what the world wanted when they destroyed Iraq's nuclear program. Sad to say, I trust Israel to make the right call here far more than I do the current US president or Secretary of State.

Gen. Martin Dempsey is an absolutely ninny. How did we end up with wusses like this in the highest rank of the U.S. Military? AP is quoting him as saying, “Iran is a rational character” - yeah, the mullahs are rational! /sarc
