Santorum: Obama leads with a 'different theology' (because he's NOT a Christian)
cnn ^ | 2/18/2012 | Chris Welch and Gregory Wallace

Rick Santorum drew applause from Ohio tea party voters - but perhaps raised some eyebrows, too - when he suggested Saturday that President Barack Obama leads based on a theology different from that in the Bible.

It left some wondering whether he was implying that Obama subscribes to a religion other than Christianity.

The comments came at an event in Columbus shortly after the former senator from Pennsylvania said efficacy and safety improvements in oil drilling technology are considered by the president to be "a dangerous technology."

"It doesn't fit his pattern of trying to drive down consumption, trying to drive up your cost of transportation to accomplish his political science goal of reducing carbon dioxide," he said.

Obama, he continued, is not motivated by "your quality of life.”

“It's not about your job. It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology,” Santorum said. "Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology. But no less a theology.”

what Santorum is pointing to is that Obama seems to be a true believer in all sorts of leftist fantasies, which are destructive to the citizens he is supposed to be helping.

Cicero, Saint Rick should use your statement above to explain himself to the nonbelievers.

Obama most likely spent that 20 years asleep in his car out in the parking lot while Rev. Jeremiah pranced around harrumphing this and that on his stage.

Even that little bit of Christian theology (and there's very little of it in Trinity Church of Christ) didn't make its way through his skull.

BTW, believers in Islam also LOVE to have oil wells around! Ask them. Obama doesn't believe oil wells have any benefits, and he fears modern technology ~ or maybe it's "old fashioned technology". This takes us back to the theory that he's from the future ~ hence 57, or 58 states, and problems with the documents attesting to his identity. Obviously intelligence agencies in the future do not have a good grasp on the present.

So, here he is and he hasn't got a clue. And, possibly, Michelle may actually be the giant flying Wookie so many of us believe her to be.

I just got home. Santorum was the key-note speaker at our Lincoln Day dinner in Akron. About ten idiots held a candlelight vigil ouside the building-they were singing Amazing Grace. Santorum stayed on message and had nothing to say about birth control or abortions. He spoke for about an hour. Guess who got the most coverage on the local news???

Now living in a newly minted Red State

You do know that Red is the communist color worldwide, and that the communists working at ABCNBCCBSCNN decided to stop calling American states run by marxists RED on election nights like they had been, and started calling Republican states RED to throw off the scent right after Reagan got elected, right?

So in effect, domestic communist propagandists have got the Right in this country calling itself RED.

No wonder they mock us.

By the way, the Santorum Clan in Italy, very RED.

Just a heads up.

Theodore, did you read the article? I did and can't disagree with what Santorum said. Someone changed the title. It does not say (because he's not a Christian). When asked later, Santorum responded “If the president says he’s a Christian, he’s a Christian.”

What's been giving the media the vapors is that Santorum is actually right on the money....they just don't understand it. Here's part of what he said. From the article:

Obama, he continued, is not motivated by "your quality of life.”

“It's not about your job. It's about some phony ideal, some phony theology,” Santorum said. "Oh, not a theology based on the Bible, a different theology. But no less a theology.”

He's RIGHT. Santorum was talking about why obama wasn't in favor of the new pipeline....because it went against obama's agenda. His agenda was to drive up the cost of energy to reduce consumption because of obama's theology/values in this area.

Why do have to mock Rick S religious beliefs ??
Are you threatened ?
That is a classic leftist attack ?
It’s odd how the Rick haters use the left attack angle !

Yep, Newt’s the only one with the cojones to take it directly to the Wan. Rick and Mitt both talk big in friendly camps, but when they’re on the same stage with b. hussein and he gives them The Look, they’ll both stutter and fold like a cheap suit.

I recall Zero saying that sin is not living up to his own moral values. That’s not anywhere in the Bible.

It is Marxist-—the Pope wrote about it condemning it. Marxist Christian is an oxymoron.

His moral “values” are Marxism and sodomy-—disgusting, vile ideology which kill and destroy millions of people. He is godless and worships on the altar of Baal. He does live up to HIS moral values but they are anathema to the US Constitution and Natural Rights from God.

I don't think making this election into a theological battle is a good idea.

Better to get this out of the way in the primaries. Mitt didn't and he is sinking fast.

Are you for real? That has to be a gag post. No one claims Santorum is a closet Commie Pinko. Isn’t the proper slam to call him a “Stalking Horse” to Milt? And to say “Red State” is subversive lingo. Really?

Agreed....if this election is about the economy we win. Santorum should stick to that...the social conservative focus of his campaign, whether we like it or not, will not play well in the general election.

Santorum runs the risk that the “Saint Rick” meme takes over. The majority of people who are sinners aren’t going to take kindly to being endlessly derided for their imperfections. Being perfect wears mighty thin might fast.

“Mitt didn’t and he is sinking fast.”

Do you mean that Mitt didn’t talk about his own religion, or about Obama’s?

Anyway, my point is not that religious differences aren’t important in this election— especially in the primaries— but that making this seem like a holy war is very likely to backfire. The media loves to portray the GOP as being comprised exclusively of theocrats who want to disenfranchise all non-Christians. Why play into their hands, when we’ve got arguments that are as good if not better about Obama’s failure to lead economically?

It is the truth, Obama plays the false christian like a maestro and America fell for it for the most part.

Apparently other people in states with upcoming elections do not agree with you. Look at the polling. GO RICK!!!

If Rick keeps pushing religion to the forefront of his strategy, it will pale and pass as a fad. He needs to spend more time thinking of cogent arguments of why he should be President and not make inane "revelations" like our public schools are stuck in the Industrial revolution. He started out slow and mumbly, then seemed to get on track with Newt-like statements, and is now having trouble being seen as a real thinker. I could vote for him, but I prefer someone with more constant and focused brain power.

Santorum is either being deviously clever in drawing Obozo and his minions in the press out or he’s being stupid. At this point who the hell knows. Such remarks if soft and elliptical enough might not raise the warning flags on the Left that they ought to do, with the result that aspects of Obozo’s life and record not otherwise discussed are out and getting bandied about.
