Think of it as a dog rental from your master, the government.
If I see a dog without a collar, should I dial 911?
Oregon counties have been known to go door to door when they need cash. They pocket either a fine or a dog license fee or both.
And dogs need licenses because??? Oh.....fees..I understand
Dogs but not illegals.............
Dog license fee is like most other fees we are charged today, a source of revenue, plain and simple.
.
Why don’t they have a license license, which is a license you buy that authorizes you to buy other licenses?
That way they could raise a whole lot more money
The countys animal control unit says it doesnt actively go looking for violators, but in Townsends case deputies arrived to repossess some furniture and happened to discover Matthew missed his day in court, so they proceeded to arrest him.You may now return to your regularly-scheduled knee-jerk reactions, and be sure to thank the next local reporter you meet.
Absolutely! There’s a good chance a criminal is at large.
[[And dogs need licenses because???]]
So they can drive, silly
Clearly, this headline is totally misleading.
First, governments do get to tax you on your personal property. If you don’t like it. Change the government don’t tell them you are special and too important.
Second, Mr. Matthew Townsend, was not arrested for failure to license his dog. He received a citation to appear for not licensing his dog. He chose to fail to appear in court and was arrested on that charge. It is very hard for a government to enforce laws against people who fail to subject themselves to the jurisdiction.
Finally, I am sick and tired of people who try this. I’m too important to be bothered with these little taxes.
If I see a dog without a collar, should I dial 911?Eventually they'll start charging fees for dialing 911.
Ok, Just went and got my dog license, now what?.....
Do I have to get a dog now?
“Eventually they’ll start charging fees for dialing 911.”
If you pay monthly (prepaid, I’m unsure of, as you pay sales tax, rather than the other fees), whether it be a house phone or a cell phone, you already do. It’s between 50 cents and a dollar a month. Check your bill. You also pay for poison control center access most everywhere. Total taxes on a house phone generally run between $15-$25, sometimes costing more than the phone service itself, nearly double if you have a basic service (compared to $13 for the actual line).
(Worked for years for 3 different phone companies).
... er... my cat....
He got it out of the pound for me....
I'm sure she is not that ugly.
