Or because 450 million years ago the Earth simply had not yet settled down in its orbit as a moon of Saturn ... when the solar system was a vastly differnt place than today.

Seems that they should be planting moss rather than spraying chemicals in the air to turn that global warming around.

Scientists believe that the global cooling was a result of a reduction in carbon levels in the atmosphere. I lost interest after reading that. These guys are just conjuring up theories that their political benefactors want to hear.

Atmospheric levels of Carbon dioxide were 16 times higher 480 million years ago which led to a higher global temperature. The CO2 levels fell by half and the planet began to cool by about 460 million years ago.
So there was a series of ice ages with CO2 8X today's levels. I'm feeling cold.

Doesn’t this play havoc with the biblical timeline?
I mean if Moses was around 480 million years ago?
Kinda throws that whole 6,000 year earth right out
the window.

480 Million BC - mosses extract nutrients from rocks by dissolving them with acid. 2012 A.D. - mosses still extract nutrients from rocks by dissolving them with acid.
Wow, looks like evolution took a holiday.
Why do you say that?

I wonder how much water born algae contributes to the Oxygen-carbon cycle? Seems to me there would be more effect from algae as the earth got warmer from CO2. Little did I know.

A crock of BS presented by a crock of BS. PressTV told me all I needed to know about the article.
So I guess the Global Warmists of the usual suspect UK sources couldn’t get anybody but Iranian PressTV to publish this crap?

"The CO2 levels dropped by half, which caused the cooling"
A recent article at Watts site said the earth has been cooling since 1998, as measured, not computer modeled.
If the earth has been cooling, why the heck do we see the following?
To tell you the truth, these climatologists don't know what they are doing.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Real scientists believe that the reduction in carbon levels occurred after global cooling set in due to changes in the sun, and volcanic activity which clouded the atmosphere.
There, fixed it!

My best friend's brother was schizophrenic and when he was off his meds, he could come up with the darndest stories and argue them to the point that you actually started believing him.
These scientists are the same way. They can come up with all kinds of theoretical data to back up their arguments, justify their existence and the continuation of their grants but in the very end, common logic says they are just full of crap........
470 million years ago....indeed. I think it would be more in the neighborhood of maybe 457 million years ago.
