1) He's not a conservative. There have been a lot of conservatives who've talked a good game during the primaries and then have let us down in D.C., but if Mitt Romney becomes the nominee and gets elected, some people seem to be hoping that he'll be the first Republican moderate to go to D.C. and turn into a fire-breathing conservative. Based on his record, if Mitt Romney is nominated, he will be the least conservative candidate since Nixon.

2) He doesn't believe in anything politically other than Mitt Romney. What conservative cause has Mitt Romney ever fought like hell for in his career? There are none. What has Mitt Romney ever done for conservatives in his career? Nothing of significance...oh wait, I forgot; when he was asked about it in the Florida debate, he noted that he started a family and a business, which is nice, but probably puts him on par with about half of the people reading this column.

4) Mitt Romney is cozying up to the establishment, not the Tea Party. Never have so many self-interested, politically-gutless establishment space fillers gathered in one place as on the endorsement list for Mitt Romney. If Bob Dole, John McCain, Susan Molinari, Lisa Murkowski, Jim Talent, Joe Scarborough, Mel Martinez, Jim Gerlach, Judd Gregg, Jon Huntsman, John Sununu and Norm Coleman are all lining up behind a candidate in a contested GOP primary, it's an almost ironclad guarantee that candidate is not going to be worth a bucket of warm spit once he gets into office. If you want to know why you're seeing so many Tea Partiers lining up behind Newt Gingrich, who despite his flaws has done more for the conservative cause than any other living politician, it's because they see the politicians backing Mitt Romney and they're well aware that they're not friends of grassroots conservatives.

5) Mitt just isn't likable enough to be a good politician. Mitt Romney comes across like a sort of bizarro-world combination between John Kerry, Richie Rich, Charlie Crist, and Data from Star Trek. This is what makes the first part of this Saturday Night Live skit so funny -- Mitt really does come across as that weirdly out of touch with hu-man emotion sometimes.
He's also an extremely nasty campaigner -- a little like Barney Frank, without the modicum of vicious charm that endears him to liberals. Want to know why this campaign has been so divisive? That's easy: Mitt Romney embraced win-at-all-costs character assassination and negative advertising as the primary tactic of his campaign and the other candidates had to respond to it. Since he's proven too unlikable to be pulled up very much, Mitt's strategy has been to pull the other candidates down, even if it leads to a mud fight that lessens anyone's chances of winning in a general election.

Oops. Haven’t started a thread in a while and left something off.
Here’s the 1st paragraph for the above article:
It’s a mystery to some people why so many Tea Partiers and grassroots conservatives cant stand Mitt Romney. What is it about him that turns them off so much that at one time or another, they’ve preferred Donald Trump, Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Rick Santorum, and Newt Gingrich to him nationally despite the fact that he has every advantage in the race? Would Mitt Romney be better than Barack Obama? Sure, but there are some very good reasons that so many grassroots conservatives still find him to be a thoroughly unlikable candidate.
That’s a real “duh” kind of article.
“Yes, Mitt’s business experience is a plus, but it didn’t help him in Massachusetts, where he was an awful, unpopular governor whose signature program, Romneycare, has been a miserable failure.”
Is his signature program Romneycare, or was it queer marriage?
I think he is rather proud of both.
Perfect description!
Only takes a smidgeon of Charlie Crist to stink up the whole package too.
Reason #6: Because Romney’s campaign can be summed up as, “Newt is evil! I’m not Newt.” Instead, Romney should run on his record as a strong, consistently conservative governor who stood up to the liberal powers that be in Massachusetts. Oh. Maybe not.
This is why this primary is far from over. After Newt’s win in SC, it was expected for Mitt to fight back hard and probably win in FL. But at what cost? He has alienated the conservative base and his attacks on Newt are not only false but over the top.
Have you noticed tht Newt is leading in tne nationl or other state polls? I predict Newt rebounding well after this week. He needs to stay on the conservative message and highlight Mitt’s flip- flops and his record as Governor and Newt will be successful?
I am Mitt and I have no core but the others are rotten to the core.
Totally agree! I saw a FR article the other day that Newt was even gaining points in Michigan (that was after SC, so if Mitt wins FL, he may get some momentum). IMHO if Newt only loses by 5-6 pts in FL, he still ‘wins’, given all the $s Mitt has spent and all the negative ads & MSM attacks.

I'm reading Atlas Shrugged for the third time in preparation for the release of Part II this November. This morning, I read Francisco's defense of money at the reception following Jim Taggart's wedding.
Sorry folks, but Romney's more of a Wesley Mouch than Hank Reardan, and looters aren't getting my vote.
You’re right on with that description. Since you’ve mentioned it I thought back and remember a few of those kids from high school - and, most of them had the same arrogance at the HS reunions.
The money quote: Yes, Mitt's business experience is a plus, but it didn't help him in Massachusetts, where he was an awful, unpopular governor whose signature program, Romneycare, has been a miserable failure.
And that’s exactly why the Dems want him - it takes Obamacare off the table, they can blast his ‘business experience’, and ask all the people unemployed or underemployed (not to mention the socialists who want a ‘fair’ America) if they want a 1% as their Prez - after all, Bambi feels their pain & he & the Dims are working for the ‘middle class’ and the poor, don’t ya know.
The article is a whitewash.
What’s wrong with Romney is, he’s destructive.
Since the day McCain decided upon Sarah Palin as his VP, Mitt’s jerks have been on the attack.
AGAINST Republicans.
All they’ve done is backbite and destroy. They sabotaged Palin, and RESULTED IN OBAMA’S ELECTION. They brought down Cain. All they do is complain.
Romney’s moonies are termites.
Romney is nasty. Selfish. And egotistical.
He’s Obama.
The only good thing about Romney, is that he will tear the GOP to the ground around the failure which will be everything political, he touches.
Time for a third party. The GOP has failed America.
#6 HE IS OBAMA
Well, the shills for the pill keep pretending they don’t understand why Willard Romney is not just disfavored by many, but detested. So conservatives have to pretend this is fresh information for those who pretend to not understand.
The article is an OK list overall, but if anything is too kind not only to Willard Romney but to those who overtly or tacitly support him. e.g. “If Bob Dole, John McCain, Susan Molinari, Lisa Murkowski, Jim Talent, Joe Scarborough, Mel Martinez, Jim Gerlach, Judd Gregg, Jon Huntsman, John Sununu and Norm Coleman are all lining up behind a candidate in a contested GOP primary, it’s an almost ironclad guarantee that candidate is not going to be worth a bucket of warm spit once he gets into office.” How could he forget the original ‘read my lips’ fake conservative George Herbert Walker Bush’s endorsement of fellow New Englander Willard Mitt Romney?
Not true. Mitt Romney is motivated strongly by his belief that he is the fulfillment of Joseph Smith's "White Horse Prophecy," whereby a Mormon will come in on a white horse and save America when her Constitution is hanging by a thread. That's why his supporters in the media won't let anyone talk about his religion.
