Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin threw a roundhouse at New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie Monday, calling his recent criticism of Newt Gingrich a “rookie mistake” — and saying he got his “panties in a wad” and “spewed” all over the former House Speaker.
We kid you not.
Palin made the outrageous comments on the Fox Business Network in an exclusive interview that airs tonight at 7 p.m. PST. Launching into Christie’s recent remarks that the former House Speaker was becoming an “embarrassment” to the GOP, she added: “I do care to take him to task — poor Chris. This was a rookie mistake. He played right into the media’s hands.”
“Here’s a host that asked Chris, ‘Does Newt embarrass the party.’ I think he asked him twice, and there Chris played right into it and spewed that about Newt embarrassing the party,” she fumed. “Sometimes if your candidate loses in just one step along this path, as was the case when Romney lost to Newt the other night and of course, Romney is Chris Christie’s guy, you kind of get your panties in a wad and you may say things that you regret later. And I think that that’s what Chris Christie did.”
Even wilder: Palin said that Christie’s remark “was reflective of a lack of self-discipline.”
“I’ve learned my lessons all along the way, too, and not responding, not playing into the media’s hands when they’re trying to get you to say something like is this candidate an embarrassment to your party?”
If there’s one consolation for the GOP here as the former vice presidential candidate levels a guy who is considered by many to be one of the strongest future GOP presidential candidates on the bench — well, maybe it’s that Palin finally says “no”

Ann has lost her mind. Suppose we elect Romney (which cannot happen by the way... imagine Obama, sly smile, looks at the Mittless wonder in the first debate, and ... “Gee, Mitt, I got the idea from you, and now you tell me that we’ve F’ed up the country?), then what? Romney proposes a newer better way to run the ABC depts? I have my tagline for good reason. Christie is a backstabber, a putz, and a RINO. Palin sniffed him out long ago. Good girl griz.
