I'm officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for president today. Was going to wait until after Florida, but see no reason to delay. We need Newt to win in South Carolina and Florida to stop any possible momentum building up for the establishment big government, statist, abortionist RINO!!

RomneyCare = ObamaCare = government tyranny!! Taxpayer funded abortion is as evil as evil can be!!

Newt is a pro-life Reagan Revolution conservative who led the Republican Revolution of the 90’s, taking the majority away from the democrats who had held it for 40 years. And as Speaker, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the spending, cut the deficit, cut regulations, cut unemployment, brought the federal budget under control for four years running. And unlike Romney, actually blocked a socialist healthcare system from becoming law. And created a pro-growth, pro-free market, pro-jobs environment and extended the Reagan economy throughout the 90’s!! Newt is the ideal candidate to lead the Tea Party Revolution!!

Newt plans to go to a 15% personal flat tax after deductions and a 12.5% corporate tax and eliminate the capital gains taxes altogether. He wants to privatize social security and medicare and eliminate the payroll tax.

And he wants to neuter the EPA and the Fed. Repeal ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank and Sarbanes-Oxley. Fire all of the czars, dismantle the Marxist state and fire if not jail Bernanke. And send 185 federal socialist welfare programs back to the states and the people, and return education back to local control.

Newt will directly challenge the liberal activist judiciary and end the unconstitutional power grabs of our usurping black robed rulers.

He wants to restore the constitutional balance of powers between the three branches and restore states rights and individual rights. He wants to turn government control back to the states and local people as the founders set it up.

These are the kind of dramatic reductions in government that the tea party is demanding.

And he has the knowledge, experience, know how, fire in the belly, and the balls to get it done!!

In short, I believe he's exactly what we grassroots conservative tea party rebels are looking for. I think we can use some of Newt’s conservative revolutionary talents right now!!

As long as the conservatives remain split, the establishment RINO Romney will waltz in just like McLame in 2008 and he will lose to Obama just like McLame. It's time to build the Gingrich Coalition!!

FR is hereby officially in full open rebellion against the elite GOP establishment and the Marxist commiecrats!!

Go, tea party!! Go, Newt!!

We are the resistance!!

Damn the torpedoes, damn the RINOs, damn the exes!! Full speed ahead!!

Free Republic is and will remain a pro-life, pro-family, limited government, strong defense, grassroots conservative site!!

RINOs need not apply!!

Happy Newt Day!! Only 366 days until President Newt evicts Obama!!

Newt fought tooth and nail against HillaryCare lest you forget, my friend.

Newt is incorporating part of Obamacare into his own government healthcare plan.
Listen here as he says that 300 pages of Obamacare are "pretty good" and that he'll include them in his own comprehensive bill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-v0xlSS4rI

Perry dropped out so that just changes everything. He was the only conservative out there with any executive experience.

I don’t know what to say. I watched the debate and it’s obvious that Santorum just doesn’t have what it takes to be president. But I wish we could do better than Newt. He’s going to need a lot of luck if he’s going to have a chance. He’ll probably win SC because he shot back so forcefully but this baggage problem will only going to get harder for him as this goes on.

Santorum's pro-SOPA comments

Santorum seems to be against SOPA according to this clip. I didn't see the entire debate however, did he somehow flip-flop on the issue mid-debate?

“The biggest problem the Conservatives have had is we’ve had a good field of potential candidates.”

The ones with potential are great but the candidates that actually decided to run keep me up at night.

"I’m on board with that endorsement................but Callista looks like she has Saran Wrap on her face, and she NEVER has a hair out of place. Kinda reminds me of a Barbie Doll. She must have the best hair spray ever made. I would love to see her look a bit mussed, or even a bit natural."

Reminds me of Cindy McCain.

“Jim, I’m with you on this one. Santorum’s pro-SOPA comments essentially and permanently put him at odds with FreeRepublic (not to mention almost every computer literate young person in America). “

The problem wasn’t that he was pro or anti SOPA. It was just such a weak answer. Newt, I have to say, truly gets it when it comes to the internet and the others couldn’t compete.

Lots of techies love Obama for some strange reason. Obama wants to appeal to them but he wants Hollywood’s $$$ even more.

Gingrich/Santorum has a nice ring to it......

So does Gingrich/Palin......

Hey, how about Gingrich/West ?

Gingrich is my guy. I don’t care if he has Mickey Mouse as his running mate, Newt will have my vote Jan. 31.

I’m with you, Jim. The debates have shown that Newt Gingrich is our Rocky Balboa, and when you want to win the fight, you send Rocky into the ring. You sure as hell don’t send Paulie (that would be you, Mitt).

The debates have also shown that Santorum is our Rocky...the talking squirrel.

Wow! I go on vacation for two days and I miss all sorts of excitement.

Count me in for Newt. There were a couple of other folks that I would have liked to have seen run, but Newt is quite acceptable...especially if he knocks that pompous windbag out of the White House this November.

>”But last time I jumped on the Cain train and it sank”<

I think it actually derailed due to Engineer error.

I'll be giving Newt a few bucks to play with.

I don't see anyone left who can articulate the things I want said better than Newt. If he gets the Nomination, I know there won't be any ground given up to Obama like McCain gleefully did.

We were sold out in 2008 when The McCain Campaign silenced Governor Palin, the one person who dared to speak the truth. I don't see the same issue coming from a Gingrich Campaign Staff. Add Allen West to the ticket just to make it interesting. LOL

I still have my doubts about his conservative bona-fides but Newt actually put to words what many of us scream at the television every day - I can go along with you on this one, Jim.

LOL! Mean, but I agree. Santorum speaks with a querulous tone, and his political instincts, strangely enough, have gotten worse with time. Sad, because he was a mighty fine senator and an impressive candidate with great political instincts up to and including the year 2000, when he was reelected to the US Senate.

Thank you, Jim. I have long been an advocate of Gingrich.

I would invite readers to check out this memo to candidate Ronald Reagan written by Newt Gingrich in 1980: http://biggovernment.com/whall/2012/01/18/exclusive-document-private-1980-gingrich-memo-to-ronald-reagans-campaign-manager-reveals-former-speakers-racial-attitudes/
