Yeah... Sure...
“”Do you have any problems with mormonISM? “””
I didn’t make up the word, ask the poster who did.
I have a problem with ALL religions in some ways. They all contain people that have done bad stuff. I’m not worried about mitt the mormon plotting to take over the world due to his religion. I’m more worried about his liberalISM.
“Im more worried about his liberalISM.”
What if his brand of liberalism is based on his Mormonism? They as a religion are taught to dissimulate as a protective mechanism (because Joseph Smith was a fortune telling grifter). What if Mormonism causes Mitt to flip-flop? There are many reasons you can’t separate his religion from his politics.
You can’t separate any politician from their religion. I’m more concerned about the Catholics than the Mormons.
"Every Year, Mitt goes before his bishop (equiv to pastor) and affirms that he has paid a full 10%+ to the LDS church. This is required in order to remain in good standing, have a temple recommend and have church callings.
If it were to come out that he was lying about his income (and thus his tithing) for several years, in order to keep his "Temple Recommend", then he could very easily face DISCIPLINARY ACTION, (disfellowship or excommunication)"""
+++++++++++
Looks like he definately has something to hide. I vaguely remember some moderator stating that Mitts income was from Capital Gains at 15%, is that his sole ENTIRE INCOME???,
Didn't he say his tax plan would be 25%? So that would be for THEE and not for HE.
I was a Mormon for 45 years. My husband, mother, brother, sisters, sister-in-laws and their families, Mother-in-law, all my extended family of cousins, most of my neighbors and residents of my State are Mormon.
I know them, and love most of them. Mormonism on the other hand is evil IMO.
Then apparently you know nothing about mormonISM.
Mitt has already said he will NOT be at the Florida debate. hmmmm?
Well then it’s good that we are voting for President and not king.
Some of the worst people I have known are Catholics.
I’ve known some really bad Lutherans.
Don’t even get me started on the Assembly crooks I’ve dealt with.
Mitts religion doesn’t concern me in the least. He was elected governor in the same state where Kerry and Kennedy were elected a thousand times. He isn’t a religious fanatic.
I don’t even know where you’re coming from. First you defend Mormonism, then you say we aren’t supposed to look at Romney’s belief in this cult when we make our decision concerning OUR free right to vote for the best candidate.
May I ask what you are doing on FreeRepublic in the first place. You obviously don’t believe in our freedom to choose. And yes, I believe Romney IS a religious fanatic. I know first hand what it takes to be a Mormon member in high standing like Romney.
So, are you saying that being a mormon makes one infallible?
That I wouldn’t ever, have any problem whatsoever, for any possible reason, with someone just because they’re mormon?
Am I understanding your statement correctly?
[Im more concerned about the Catholics than the Mormons.]
For every Catholic concern, I’ll give you five Mormon issues. ABC is just starting in this morning on their business connections, but that is tip of the iceberg.
Why? Would you be willing to explain what differentiates them in your mind to make you "more concerned" about Catholics vs. mormons?
But you are not talking about the 'religions'; but the PEOPLE in them.
What are some of your 'ways'?
Uh; could you state WHY?
Temple Recommend Questions
1 Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost? 2 Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and of His role as Savior and Redeemer? 3 Do you have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel in these the latter days? 4 Do you sustain the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and as the only person on the earth who possesses and is authorized to exercise all priesthood keys? Do you sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators? Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local authorities of the Church? 5 Do you live the law of chastity? 6 Is there anything in your conduct relating to members of your family that is not in harmony with the teachings of the Church? 7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? 8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel? 9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen? 10 Are you a full-tithe payer? 11 Do you keep the Word of Wisdom? 12 Do you have financial or other obligations to a former spouse or children? If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations? 13 If you have previously received your temple endowment: Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple? Do you wear the garment both night and day as instructed in the endowment and in accordance with the covenant you made in the temple? 14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been? 15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances? |
Oh?
But you JUST said...
I have a problem with ALL religions in some ways.
