Thank you for sharing the minutia about Newt. I knew I was impressed with the man for some reason!!

I was really struggling; OBozo - Newt, OBozo - Newt, OBozo - Newt but now my mind is clear and I really think Newt is a better choice than OBozo!

My problem with her list is that it’s too long for people to wade through.

No offense intended, but for that reason I didn’t try to read it because I wouldn’t do it justice.

A list is better if it has a few solid things rather than everything but the kitchen sink.

Just my opinion, of course.

Newt is one of sharpest tongued critics of other Republicans that there is...when he feels like letting loose.

When he wants to keep his massive baggage out of the spotlight he says, oh, we can’t attack each other.

I don’t fall for it.

I look at him with eyes wide open.

Then, I assess what I see.

Legal in Texas. I would have advised him to do the same. Smart and earned.

Unfortunately, you are the type of individual that will finish this nation off. Impressed?

If you’re impressed with those positions, then you deserve the tyranny coming.

Well I could have formatted in much of the same way as Dick & Jane was in 2nd grade, but figured that truly interested ‘adults’ could take the time to read through the list which was formatted in lines and not paragraphs. In any case, glad to read that you are not falling for some of Gingrich’s tactics.

If you don’t mind, can you tell me where the writer got his impression of Perry’s stance on Social Security?

I know Perry says it’s a Ponzi Scheme that won’t be there for young people who are forced to pay into it. And he’s absolutely right.

He has said we need to allow younger workers different options. He says those on or within a few years of drawing SS need not worry because it will be there for them.

Other than that, I wasn’t aware he had laid out a complete plan for changing the system. Has he?

The part about Perry saying the Government taxes and spends too much??

That part is true...he does say that.

Is the writer denying that the Government taxes and spends too much??

LOL

Your formatting was fine. It was the length, for me. Anyone else want to go through it, go for it.

I’m fully adult and post every day on behalf of Governor Perry and weigh in on the records of others. So I’m as interested as I can be.

To each his own, and I meant no offense.

We agree, look at Gingrich, or anyone, with eyes wide open.

But I will not fall for pure propaganda for or against someone either.

I evaluate everything and call them all as I see them.

The propaganda I’m seeing is from Romney, Gingrich, Santorum where they are clearly trying to gloss over their records and appear as constitutional conservatives.

I meant no offense only understood that you felt the post was too long to be bothered with. And that upset me because how else is the truth going to get out there? But you seem to be on top of the issues. Kudos.

Sounds like my liberal NYC sister

“They should not be allowed to make that much money!”

(Corporate CEOs - sports jocks that may only play 2-3-4 years - and many have bad injuries to live with anyway)

I said “Who will decide how much some CEO can make? A movie star making 10 times as much or insider trading multi-millionaire NAZI Pelosi?”

Perry, a former Democrat who campaigned for Al Gore, is now some kind of model conservative? I’ve seen some pretty damning lists of all his liberal policies in TX too like the Gardasil episode, land grabs, etc.

Most of your stuff against Newt is just total spin and stuff taken out-of-context. Of course we went into debt in the ‘80s. We were trying to outspend the Soviet Union! And just why do you think the stuff about Newt wanting the death penalty for drug dealers is a bad thing? That’s pure conservatism. The people who spread that poison in our country should be treated like rapists and murderers. It’s that stuff that’s helping create movements like OWS and youth that have no ambition and motivation to partake of all that capitalism has to offer.

We also all know the IRS cleared him of the ethics charge about his teaching an “improper” college course that Pelosi and others tried to attach to him. You also seem to think terrorists deserve civil rights. And you’re absolutely lying about him being paid to “halt Congress” from reforming Freddie Mac. Where’s the evidence of that? Not one person has come forward to say he lobbied them. In 2008 Newt said they should not be bailed out.

This whole “story” is a load of BS. Perry is following the pension rules exactly as they were written and intended.

I have a feeling that if a Public School Administrator were doing the same thing, there would be some concern about the burden on the State, legal or not.

Your argument regarding Perry being a democrat in 1988 and campaigning for Gore, whom at that time was considered a ‘conservative southern dem’ pro-life etc, has been beat to death and is utterly ridiculously. You don't think Perry is a conservative? Why is that? His record certainly shows it by the way he has governed.

Your attempt to diminish his conservatism fails. And as far as Newt, what conservative is for global warming? He is a complete walking contradiction. His lobbying, his making his millions while being in Congress, shows he is the ultimate 'insider'. Something many seem to want to overlook. Remember, the era of Reagan is dead...just ask Newt

The guy's a lib, typical "journalist." Probably reads Huffington Post or DU.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say that EVERY public school administrator covered by these same pension rules is already doing precisely the same thing.

Why not? To do otherwise would be irresponsible and neglectful of a man’s duty to his family’s welfare. We’re all told to follow the rules, and if the rules are set up to allow us to start drawing an annuity/pension at a certain time, then there ought to be no onus on doing so. Normally, a postponement of benefits would result in higher benefits later, so this would be a decision to be taken after looking at the totality of one’s circumstances. I can’t think of a single reason that I would want my family to suffer as a result of my not taking salary benefits that I am entitled to without question.

Whether school administrator or governor, I can’t find a single thing to criticize here.

Perry is a crony capitalist. We all know he pushed the Gardasil thing because of connections to the drug companies. I refer you to this Freeper post from a Texan discussing his land grab for the “Trans-Texas Corridor”:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2822254/posts#19

Stop lying about Newt. He was never a lobbyist. At the same time you seem to have no problem when Perry hands out political favors to lobbyists. Guess what, lobbying is also called free speech. There is a pro-life lobby just as much as there is a pro-choice lobby. Citizens are allowed to ask their government to do things. It’s when the government does things that hurt the rest of us that there’s a problem.

Science doesn’t mix with politics any more than religion mixes with politics. You cannot evaluate science based on a political bias. I can be a conservative and believe in global warming if I want to. A political party telling me what science I should or should not believe in is no different from the church telling us the world is flat. Newt spoke out in Congress against Al Gore’s cap and trade scheme and has been outspoken about developing all of our energy resources, fossil fuel and otherwise:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9bOfQItB8c

Newt made millions off of selling his books. No different than Palin, his books sold better because his name was well-known, but there’s nothing UNconservative about making money in the free market. For once we ought to have someone in high office smart enough to be a great and popular writer on something like two dozen books who doesn’t need anyone to ghost write them for him.

Absolutely, did you see on Drudge yesterday the story that some school employee in Philadelphia retired with a half a million dollar pension and went back to work the next day?

To see supposed conservatives hand-wave away this scam because “their guy” is doing it is disgusting. These overblown pension schemes are what’s driving government budgets into the red all over the country. It’s part of what Scott Walker and John Kasich are trying to fight the unions on. It’s a totally unrealistic and unsustainable system. Governor Perry now officially has no credibility on the issue whatsoever.

It’s not rocket science, my friend :)

Whichever TWO finish in 5th and 6th Tuesday need to tell their tear-filled heart broken fans, “adios amigos!”

And then head back to Austin and Minnesota, as the case may be.

So I guess the author thinks that all the military retirees who get a second career after retirement should not have taken the money.
