I honestly don’t think that your average N.R.A. member is as stupid as they think they are.

We know that when Obama wins the election, that all of this and much worse will come true.
It seems that we might as well start to figure out what we, as individuals, are going to do to lesson the impact when this nightmare comes true.
All we had to do was stand behind and support the one candidate that could actually beat Obama and stop this nonsense, but regrettably, we won’t do that.
We will be stubborn, stay fractured, and allow Romney to become the nominee.... and go on to give Obama his second term.

This may be the right strategy. They can ban ammunition without completely banning guns. Over time, once the current supply of ammo is used up the guns would be worthless.
Banning guns will happen when the Supreme Court tilts by one more vote. Likely to happen in a second Obama term given the ages of Scalia and Kennedy. Replace one of them with a liberal and the Court will be able to rule the 2nd amendment applies only to members of the the militia. Alternatively the Supremes can severely limit the types of guns that can be owned and allow the government to put very strict controls on the sales of ammunition.
That is true. I am old enough to remember when things were so different. And I am now pessimistic enough to think that, as the French say, "les jeux sont fait" ("the die is cast" or "the game is over") and we can never recover what we once had.
I did not see this coming but now all is clear, I am so, so glad that I didn't have children who would be facing a very different America.

Concurring bump. Remember that Romney is a New World Order, "Me-Too" Republican who can be counted on to help foster more, not less, gun control around the edges while posturing as pro-2A.
Remember how Bush 41 fostered U.N. power grabs on his watch. That business about "normalizing" to "international norms" means throwing all or most of the American Experiment out the window. Even our friends, Japan and the U.K., have led a strong charge in the U.N. to shut down the U.S. 2nd Amendment via U.N. treaties and "understandings". Bush 41 was putty in the hands of those people.
Expect the same or worse from the RiNO Socialist Romney -- Mr. Romneycare.
