Angry former ATF chief blames subordinates for Fast and Furious, Richard A. Serrano of the Los Angeles Times reported in his Christmas Eve gift to the administration.
The story is he didnt know, and hes sticking to it. And if Ken Melson didnt know, how could Eric Holder?
Now the new acting Bureau head, B. Todd Jones dutifully carries the meme forward:
[W]eak management structure has given some field agents a license to operate independently of Washington.
Except field agents at CleanUpATF, the website dedicated to exposing and correcting agency waste, abuse, corruption and fraud, arent buying it:
Mr. Jones - if the above is accurately quoted and accurately attributed to you, then to borrow a line from Mr. Grassley "You may be ill-served". You may not have been here long enough to know that ATF does not operate that way. Agents need multiple layers of approval to even begin such an operation, even one that does not encourage and allow sales to known traffickers with no intention of maintaining control or observation of the firearms. If you have been advised otherwise, you may want to consider other sources for your orientation to the agency because you will have no shortage of employees testify contrary to your assertion and be able to back it up with specific examples. Here's hoping there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication during the interview. We don't need any more classic oversight hearing moments with an employee being asked "Are you lying or are they lying?"
Here's one sure way to tell if the CYA higher-ups are serious: Will they dare help prosecute their allegedly wayward underlings, and risk them telling what they know?

Gunwalker ping.
The comeback to this type of misdirection is always to offer up the choices that either they knew and were complicit or they are incompetent and their agency is out of control. Then you go prove one or the other and let the heads roll.
You still have to have the media pressure. We don’t. The dims aren’t killing us, it’s the media.
Angry former ATF chief blames subordinates for Fast and Furious,
Stupid... How does he explain the inter-agency coordination? (7 agencies)
Duuuhhh!
Nobody is stupid enough to believe that crap.
Corrupt political pollution from the government/media complex continues to wrap this crime in chaos. They cannot be allowed to succeed.
Ping.
We may not get them arrested but we can damn sure get them “un-employed”
How many people, beyond we who are following this closely and know about every twist and turn in this mayhem, actually know, understand, or even care about it? There haven’t exactly been blaring headlines anywhere, even among those mainstream newsies which are actually publishing SOME of it.
How many read Sipsey Street or Gunrights Examiner? Precious few. This is the most under-reported story of the last half century.
I am become increasingly apprehensive about that. The GOP is a horrific mess. We have been betrayed. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that we would be fielding such a bunch of pathetic losers as potential presidential material. I feel as if I’ve gone through the looking glass.
You are so right. The media is providing cover instead of doing its job. If F&F happened under a republican administration the media would be on it 24/7. Republicans would have been forced to step down and probably be behind bars by now.
Yes, of course, you are right.
Everything about this “administration” is criminal. The Dem party is a criminal organization, no less than the Mafia.
And the MSM is an integral part of the conspiracy. Oh, did I say that word? But it is a conspiracy, no other explanation makes any sense.
A contemporary David-and-Goliath story. God bless 'em.
We have the internet now, and it’s working. The media frankly isn’t that powerful, we just don’t challenge it enough.
Don’t be put off by the presentation, what this guy is saying can put a major hurt on MSM.
