Holder’s OIG ’Gunwalker’ investigation passes historic milestone today

Exceeds time it took Warren Commission to produce report on JFK murder

“I will certainly await the report that comes out of the inspector general and I will assure you and the American people that people will be held accountable for any mistakes that were made in connection with Fast and Furious,” Attorney General Eric Holder testified in a November 8 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

This leads to the questions of why it’s taking so long, and if the end result will be indicative of the self-serving stonewalling and foot-dragging the Department of Justice has exhibited throughout congressional investigations of “Project Gunwalker.” As things stand, Holder has been able to play the OIG card every time a question he does not wish to answer comes up.

“In February,” Holder wrote in his prepared statement for the December 8 House Committee on the Judiciary hearing, “I asked the Department’s Acting Inspector General to investigate the matter…”

When in February?

HOLDER: One of the things that I did early on was to ask the inspector general to look into this. I was -- I was hearing from inside the Justice Department one set of facts. I was hearing from members of Congress and members of the media something else. And it seemed to me that given this disparate information that I was receiving that an investigation needed to be had, and on February the 28th I asked the inspector general to begin an investigation.

But not, it seems, in writing, that is, in any way that can evidently be traced back to him and exactly what his instructions were, and to whom.

This administration has a track record of harassing whistle-blowers, promoting the guilty and firing inspector generals (anybody remember Gerald Walpin?)

I think they have full control of any investigative arm looking into Fast & Furious outside of Rep Issa.

Undocumented tyrant’s Gun-Walking AG:
If Congress were run by al Qaeda,
your King and we rulers at the DOJ would be RIGHT ON IT.
Why? Because we absolutely LOVE terrorists.
We defend them. Protect them. Especially Islamic terrorists.
You stupid dhimmi Americans? .... Not so much."

I am not so sure about Issa.

I believe they are all waiting for the whole thing to just blow away. This should be number One on the Republican hit parade.Haven’t heard a Candidate mention it.

Yeah, it is called running out the clock. All the pols know if you can get pass the first few news cycles and keep a lid on anything further, the spotlight shifts to something else unless sex by a GOP is involved during which time it becomes 24/7 news.

The DOJ IG has done the bidding of the AG for years overthere. Perhaps with a special prosecutor and full access to all records something would get done but not the way it is going now.

It’s time for Issa to grow a pair and demand a Special Prosecutor. He has more than enough grounds and evidence to justify this. The DOJ will stonewall this into oblivion.

See the link. Good reason to slow down on demands for a special prosecutor.

Come on you guys. Give them a break, OK?

How can we expect the investigation to wrap up when so many of the guns are still accounted for, when so many of the players are incommunicato over in Afghanistan, when questioning those involved in the coverup would involve so, so many in the executive, legislative and media/propaganda branches of the government?

And you know they’ll have to question the POTUS before it’s all over, but how can they be expected to get that done in a timely manner without interfering with his vacations, golf games, meetings with union leaders, campaigning, passing EOs, Kwanza messages, and such other vital efforts to destroy the country.

Give Holder a break, ok? Sheesh!

Does this OIG even have a name? I have never seen or heard it referenced. I question his existence.

Thanks for that link. Interesting article. The problem I see is that the pubbies have no cojones and will NOT, as the article suggests:They haven't done this so far and I doubt they will. Other than CBS, this is getting next to no play in the MSM. Thus Holder can deny and obfuscate forever.

The pubbies really need to draw up articles of impeachment for Holder but that will never happen. The pubbies would be scared to death that would make Holder mad at them. And that's the last thing they want.
